Job Description
Job objectives
§ Establishing strong working relationships with all the key players involved in current school leadership development and school improvement planning
§ Working closely with the Ministry to develop a strategy for scale up of reformed school leadership CPD
§ Work in strong partnership with the Ethiopian Ministry of Education, Regional Education Bureaus and Woredas
§ in consultation with the School Leadership CPD Lead and the Partnership and Incubation Hub Manager, support the design of model interventions to support equity and inclusion in the emerging regions.
§ The Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of TARGET outputs related with School leader CPD intervention
§ Coordinate, support and provide technical assistance and operational support to the School Leader CPD intervention
§ Work closely and collaboratively with National SIP task team, CPD TTE, the ministry of education, regional education bureaus, consortium partners, CSOs etc.
§ Provide technical assistance/advice on all aspects of school Leader CPD programming and implementation
§ Liaise with the partnership and incubation hub manager to ensure the model interventions implementation aligned with the overall goal of SIP reform
§ Capture and share knowledge and experiences to promote learning.
§ Prepare regular/mandated program/project reports for management, donors, and partners to keep them informed of program progress.
Person specification
Knowledge
• Master’s degree and above in School Leadership, Education Planning and Management, Inclusive education, gender, or related field of study
• Understanding of education sectors, with a broad perspective on how the Ethiopian system operates including role of public, private, and non-government organizations
• Strong knowledge of effective school leadership
• Strong knowledge on girl’s education intervention in Ethiopia
• Strong awareness of and responsiveness to digital learning technology
Experience
• At least 8 years of experience in implementing monitoring multi-year, multi-component education programmes
• School leadership training on the areas of; instructional leadership; leadership for school improvement, leadership for inclusion, girls’ education, equity and excellence and leadership for building a culture of continuous improvement, high expectations and accountability
• Leading education reform
• Planning, prioritizing, sequencing, managing, problem-solving and reporting on
implementation of projects
