Introduction
Under the direct supervision of GBV senior manager GBV Roving Senior officer will support IMC’s GBV emergency response programming in new and existing locations and ensure that all programming is implemented in line with IMC’s and global GBV Emergency Response Model.
She/he will be responsible in supporting GBV assessments, capacity building and mentoring of GBV staffs, coordination with governmental actors, reporting and ensure financial and logistical controls are implemented according to IMC protocols.
The position will be a roving (Amhara, Oromia, Somali, Afar, Tigray region) and technically reports to the GBV senior manager
Detail responsibility and Task
- Support the implementation of IMC’s GBV emergency programming in all area and ensure it meets GBV guiding principle.
- Support the GBV field teams in the implementation and monitoring of the work plans ensuring that activities reflect the commitments IMC made to the donor and the community.
- With the support of the M&E team, develop and/or improve community feedback mechanism for the GBV program, ensuring that GBV teams in the field actively monitor set indicators and evolving concerns of the target communities.
- Review progress in achieving program objectives and targets in collaboration with the program managers and guide in course of action.
- Review internal and external reports for the GBV team, with support from GBV managers.
- Support GBV team to improve the provision of quality case management and psychosocial support services to meet the needs of women and girls in emergencies.
- Lead trainings on GBV case management, PSEA and GBV mainstreaming for staff and partners.
- Conduct GBV assessments to identify risks of GBV and assess gaps to inform responses.
- Oversee the procurement of GBV materials and recruitment in coordination with HR and logistic team
- Any other duties and responsibilities that can be given by immediate and technical supervisors
- University Degree in Social Work, psychology, Sociology or related field. Master level education is preferred. For MA Degree 2 years of experience in GBV, psychosocial support, social work, human rights, protection/gender, or related areas; and for MA , BA/BSc Degree 4 years of experience in the above-mentioned fields is required.
- Experience in supervising, managing, and providing technical support, capacity building and assistance to GBV field staff. And an experience working in emergency context.
- Experience working with communities through community entry, mobilization, and dialogue
- Familiarity with standards and guidelines for GBV programming and coordination as well as guidance on protection from SEA
- Familiarity with approaches for community and individual psychosocial support
- Familiarity with international humanitarian operations, coordination structures, and the mandates of donors, UN agencies, and other NGOs
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written in English. Knowledge of local language is plus.
