Job Purpose

Under the supervision of Deputy Operation and General Manager the Plant Manager is responsible to plan, organize, coordinate and control the overall plant activities of the company. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Under the directive of Deputy Operations General Manager plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the general activities of the factory.

  • Directs and coordinates daily operations of the manufacturing plant as per its strategic plan of the company.

  • Manages production plans and budgets as agreed plans to achieve organizational objectives of the company.

  • Minimizes unplanned downtime, monitors & review operation of plant equipment and systems constantly.

  • Prepares reports, analyze data and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance related problems.

  • Initiates and carries out projects that improve efficiency and /or reduce operating costs.

  • Confers with all factory department managers and their subordinates on the application of continuous improvement methods and meeting production standards, and cost parameters

  • Communicates directly with the production department to coordinate maintenance and repair work in the production areas.

  • Participates in long-range plant expansion, conversion, and equipment planning with other technical staffs accordingly.

  • Formulate effective and economical methods to produce the required products of the factory.

  • Ensures that the machines are maintained according to the standard set & equipments are serviced, maintained, and repaired in a proper and timely manner.

  • Assist the General Manager concerning issues related to production, human resource and supply chain management as a Production Manger.

  • Assure raw material and other inputs required for the production of all products and make sure that they are delivered on time.

  • Review the production department programs and budgets, and follow its implementation upon the approval.

  • Allocate resources effectively and follow its utilization to produce optimal results.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.

  • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met in accordance with country’s & company’s health and safety procedures.

  • Reviews subordinate performance regularly and support them to achieve company’s goals.

  • Monitor the proper implementation of company’s policies and procedures.

  • Assist the Factory Admin concerning the department’s recruitment, staffing and oversee all levels of staff activity and their performance.

  • Plans short and long range manpower requirements of the company.

  • Supervises the receipt, storage, issues, delivery and control of raw materials, spare parts and other supplies used for factory operations

  • Prepares  work programs, reviews performance and submits reports on the activities of each work unites

  • Ensures the timely preparation of documents on purchasing & warehousing operations and the smooth flow of information between the team and the other organizational units.

  • Review requisitions, receiving reports, issue vouchers and follows up their timely recording in the proper manner

  • Prepare and submit periodic reports according to company’s standards to the concerned departments and offices.

  • Evaluate work performance of subordinates and reports to the concerned department.

  • Monitor equipments and ensure that they are in good working order and are being maintained regularly.

  • Prepare work programs and make sure that all activities are operated according to the plan.

  • Provides the technical support necessary to all of his/her subordinates.

  • Performs related activities as required.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • BA Degree on Food Science and Post- Harvest Technology or

  • BA Degree on Food Science and Nutrition or

  •  BA Degree on Food Engineering or

  • BA Degree on Food Science and Technology

Work Experience

  • Minimum two years and above
