Project HOPE is an international NGO of more than 500 engaged employees and hundreds of volunteers who work in more than 25 countries, responding to the world’s most pressing global health challenges.

Background

USAID THDR activity has been implemented in the past five years in the four developing region al states namely Afar Benishagule Gumuze, Gambela and somali regions, with the aim of reducing maternal and new bord death through implementation of cost effective integrated RMNCH/FP intervention. As pert this activity, we have been implementing APTS in selected hospitals. In this regards, we would like to assess the outcome of our APTs implementation in the four hospitals, specifically (Dupti General Hospital, Kelewan primary hospital, Degehabure General Hospital and Gambela Primary Hospitals) and want to hire a consultant to conduct this APTS outcome assessment: - 

 

POSITION TITLE:                             APTS outcome assessment consultant

REPORTS TO:                                   THDR Program Director

DUTY STATION:                               Addis Ababa

MINIMUM HOURS OF WORK:      40 Hours per Week

DURATION OF CONTRACT:            One and half month 


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the methodological design of the APTS outcome assessment in close coordination with USAID Transform HDR (THDR) and the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH).

  • Coordinates and develop data collection tool of the APTS outcome assessment, in close coordination with USAID Transform HDR and with the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH).

  • Conducts workshop to comment on draft tool developed with stakeholder (finalization of data collection)

  • Provides orientation training, guidance, conduct and oversight of the data collection process.

  • Conducts data collection in 4 APTS implementing hospitals ( Dupti General Hospital , Kelewan primary hospital , Degehabure General Hospital and Gambela Primary Hospitals)

  • Conduct proper data entry and analysis, interpretation of the findings and write assessment report

  • Presents the assessment report to stack holder and collect fed back from the relevant stakeholders

  • Conduct assessment finding Validation workshop with the relevant stakeholders like APTS implementing Hospitals, THDR program staffs and FMoH,

  • Submit final Assessment report

  • Draft a manuscript of the assessment for publication with reputable international / local journal. 

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  •  PHD in Pharmacy or related field

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of pharmacy and Experience on APTS implemented pharmacy policy, guidelines, processes, results and outcomes is preferred

  • Strong research experience with proven track record of publications in peer‐reviewed journals

  • Strong knowledge of implementation science methods and analysis.

  • Strong quantitative/qualitative and program research write up skills.

  • Strong analytical skills and training in statistics. Experience with analytical software

  • Excellent communication skills including writing and presentation; good computer skills including PowerPoint, Excel and other software relevant to presentations.

  • Willingness to travel in three regions (Afar, Somalai and Gambela)
