Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage & co-ordinate the day-to-day relationship with major (inter)national brewers relating to delivery execution, contract preparedness, relationship development to ensure annual & multiyear supply agreements are established (volume & margin). 

  • Ensuring the customer is presented with value-add innovative ideas/lateral solutions along the supply chain such that TCO is recognized & rewarded.

  • Supports the implementation of strategies such that the company is the supplier of choice and point of reference for our competitors.

  • The development of enduring customer relationships based on trust, innovation, credibility and respect

  • Provide input for negotiation , management and tracking of Long-Term Agreements (LTA’s) and annual contracts with customers

  • The translation of customer needs to both operations and procurement colleagues in order to ensure delivery against customer requirements and overall client satisfaction

  • Active participation in the supply chain to address issues or obstacles preventing or adversely impacting customer experience

  • Advise customers on timing of purchases considering market developments whilst protecting and maximizing business return

  • Look to develop logistics and transport solutions that deliver a competitive advantage

  • Active monitoring and reporting of risks and exposures related to your customers

  • Tracking and management of contract execution, administration and deliveries (ensuring delivery budgets are met or exceeded)

  • Assistance where necessary with payment issues and in the pursuit of mechanisms and solutions to reduce working capital

  • Define, set up, track and optimize our KPI drivers to always satisfy the KPI drivers in the brewery/distillery - in line with business objectives.

  • Participation in sales strategy formulation and budget setting (for the area/sector under your responsibility)

  • Delivery of agreed budgets, financial targets and personal objectives

  • Management of local customer specific positions to ensure they are within agreed limits

  • Assistance in “packaging” and “marketing” of innovative tools for customers

  • Monitoring of grain markets and dissemination of relevant market data/information to your customers

  • Investigation of new opportunities, customers and markets

  • Maintain and develop relationships with external suppliers and agencies as appropriate

  • Review and report against KPI variances.

  • Assist the Operations team to maximize customer specific malt quality in line with the potential of the malting barley crop, as measured by micro malting analysis

Job Requirements

Qualification:

  • Degree  in Agriculture, Food Science, Marketing, Sales, Business Management and related fields. 

Experience: 

  • Minimum four years experience in commercial related role. Customer Relationship Management demonstrating an established track record, understanding of Brewing/ distilling processes, -Background in national/international B2B sales context, appreciation of national commodity markets within a processing environment, understanding of logistics & supply chain practices - International trade perspective is desirable

  • Formal brewing/Distilling qualifications and/or extensive practical experience would be well regarded

Language/ IT :

  • Fluent in English and Amharic (spoken and written)

  • Ability to use usual business software – Office 365
