We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Core Network Operations Manager within Technology in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

 Detailed Description

Reporting to the Head of Network Operations, Maintenance & NOC, the role holder will be responsible for the operations in the core network domain (CS, EPC, IMS, SDM and Signaling) to support Company business requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Overseeing O&M duties within the Core network domain.
• Work closely with business units to deliver Packet CS & Core CS modifications, enhancements, and support for 3rd party applications.
• Manage the operations, maintenance, and optimization of Company’s Packet & Core CS Switch Network elements and features.
• Manage both Packet Switch/Core CS Switching capacity/utilization and performance optimization as per agreed thresholds.
• Drive OPEX Savings initiatives.
• Ensure application of best practice in Service Delivery Models for Company.
• Drive adoption of ISO, eTOM or ITIL into Business delivery models in Company.
• Uniformity of Company Standards across the board.
• Implement best-practice Network Policies and Procedures, Planning and Design techniques/tools.
• Attract & recruit the best talent.
• Develop the team through learning initiatives, mentoring & coaching.
• Team Engagement though constant feedback & communication, performance discussions.
• Drive attainment of efficiencies through automation of processes/activities.
• Provide weekly reports and recommendations to management

Job Requirements

• Degree in one of the following: Telecommunications and or Electronic Engineering.
• 7 years of network operations experience in a wireless environment either with a carrier or a vendor/consulting firm serving this industry.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing a team within a network operations environment.
• Strong knowledge and experience in systems integration techniques, system engineering, systems management, and KPI reporting.
• Must have prior working experience with DRA/DEA, STP, SBC and S/PGW, GGSN, SGSN, Gp DNS, HLR/HSS.
• Strong knowledge in SIGTRAN (SS7), RADIUS, Diameter, GTP, INAP, CAMEL and SIP protocols.
• Sound understanding of GSM/3G/LTE/5G architecture with respect to Core Networks.
• Strong knowledge and experience in systems integration techniques, system engineering, systems management, and KPI reporting.
• Solid understanding of IP networking and related technology.
• Knowledgeable in Network Function Virtualisation infrastructure (NFVi)
• Experience in fault management and resolution in a telecommunications environment
• Experience with Nokia core systems will be an added advantage
• Experience in Radio Access Network will be advantageous.
