We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Specialist SDM and Signalling Support Engineer within the Technology and Network Operations Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Job Responsibilities 

• Responsible for the management of all maintenance and operations of of all roaming interfaces (SS7, Diameter, SIP and GRX/IPX)
• Responsible for the support and maintenance of roaming partners for Prepaid and Postpaid GSM, GPRS, 3G,LTE (IN and OUT bound Roaming).
• Support Roaming partners in performing IREG tests
• Quality of Service Management through monitoring and tracking of Roaming service KPIs and initiating corrective actions on any deviations
• Escalate issues and problems to roaming partners, IPX/GRX, signaling and voice carriers and other vendors and follow up.
• Responsible for maintenance and support on interconnect links
• Execute and maintain policy compliance checks and security standards on all interconnection points.
• Perform 2^nd line support for roaming incidents.
• Responsible for the management of correct maintenance procedures and processes.
• Maintain very high availability in Roaming and interconnect domain.
• Act as Opersations SPOC for roaming and interconnect.
• Provide weekly reports and recommendations to management
• Vendor and other stakeholders management

Skills & Abilities Required

Knowledge and skills:

•  Must have prior working experience with DRA/DEA, STP, SBC and S/PGW, GGSN, SGSN, Gp DNS, HLR/HSS.
• Strong knowledge in SIGTRAN (SS7), RADIUS, Diameter, GTP, INAP, CAMEL and SIP protocols.
• Sound understanding of GSM/3G/LTE/5G architecture with respect to Core Networks.
• Strong knowledge and experience in systems maintenance and support ,system integration techniques, system engineering, systems management, and KPI reporting.
• Solid understanding of IP networking and related technology.
• Knowledgeable in Network Function Virtualisation infrastructure (NFVi).
• Experience in fault management and resolution in a telecommunications environment.
• Experience with Nokia core systems will be an added advantage.
• Experience in Radio Access Network will be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and must have prior knowledge on how to escalate network issues.

Job Requirements

• Degree in one of the following: Telecommunications Electronic Engineering or Computer Science
• Minimum 5 years of roaming network maintenance / planning and engineering experience in a wireless environment either with a carrier or a vendor/consulting firm serving this industry
• Experienced with Incident and Problem Management practices and processes.
