Hotel Storekeeper Job Summary

  • To record the receiving of goods at the hotel’s receiving bay and keep items in the store and the store itself in a good condition and ensure that established stock levels are maintained and regularly reported to the finance manager.

Hotel Storekeeper Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive all goods ensuring that they are in accordance with the delivery notes/ purchase orders as to weight and/or quantity and category.
  • Record receipt of goods on receiver’s report as directed.
  • Ensure goods are promptly and safely delivered to their point of final delivery.
  • Responsible for the total receiving activities including the porterage of goods to their point of final delivery, the control of returnable crates and bottles, and for the cleanliness of the receiving area
  • Issue goods in accordance with properly authorized requisitions.
  •  To report obsolete goods and those nearing expiry date.
  •  To report periodically the status of each item available in the store and reorder level to the concerned department or personnel.
  •  Ensures temperature in store stays constant at desired level

Job Requirements

Hotel storekeeper Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education: Applicants for the hotel storekeeper role are required to have a diploma in Hotel Management ,or in a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Hotel storekeeper or similar role
  • Knowledge: It is important that they have basic understanding of inventory and cost control practices and familiarity with Fidelio MMS, MC, Crunch-time, or similar systems.
  • Communication skills: It is essential that they have verbal and written communication skills to speak to guests and colleagues in a clear, appropriate, and professional language
  • Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
