Major duties & responsibilities:
- Develop & strengthen monitoring and evaluation procedures
- Monitoring all project activities expenditure & progress towards achieving the project outputs
- Recommend further improvement of the logical frame work
- Develop monitoring & impact indicators for the project success
- Participate in proposal development & design works
- Monitoring & evaluation overall progress on achievement of results
- Monitoring the sustainability of the project’s results
- Suggest strategies to the Project Management for improving the efficiency & effectiveness of the project by identifying bottlenecks in completing activities & developing plans to minimize or eliminate such bottlenecks
- Provide feedback to the department head on project strategies & activities
- Report monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly and annual progress on all project activities to the Department Head
- Conduct capacity assessment on existing monitoring & evaluation system Develop indicators & a monitoring strategy for the project
- Providing inputs information & statistics for quarterly, annual & other reports to Project Management Team
- Participate in annual project reviews and planning workshop and assist the Project Manger in preparing relevant reports
- Support monitoring & evaluation of the effects and impact of the project
- Assist in coordinating across the available components of the project ensure effective implementation of M&E/MIS
- Assist the project personnel with M&E tools and in supporting them in their use
- Provide training on M&E related subject to the assigned projects
- Perform other duties as required

Job Requirements
Education & Experience:
- University degree in Development studies, Monitoring & Evaluation, Project Management, Economics, Agricultural Economics or related field
Experience:
- At least 2 years of work experience in the design & implementation of M&E/MIS in development projects implemented by NGOs
- Experience in designing tools & strategies for data collection analyses & production of reports
- Proven ICT skills especially in the development of MIS software using database software
- Expertise in analyzing data using statistical software
- Strong training & facilitation skill
Additional skills required:
- In-depth Knowledge on MIS & development Issues
- Excellent knowledge of monitoring & the application of methodology
- Good understanding of capacity assessment methodology, excellent ability to identify significant capacity building opportunities
- Excellent communication skills in English (written & oral). Sensitivity and responsiveness to all partners, respectful & helpful relations with donors & project staff
- Ability to lead implementation of new system (business side), and affect staff behavioral/attitudinal change
- Skill in Amharic & other national languages is advantageous
- Experience in field work with local religious organizations
- Skill in team work & interpersonal communication
- Skill in compliance handling & managing feedbacks
- Knowledge of Core Humanitarian standards & polices
- Knowledge of the organization’s mission, vision, values & policies
