• Identifies commodity needs and the timing of the needs of the each targeted program areas;
• Plans carefully the delivery of commodities and ensures that they are delivered on time and at the right place;
• Engage in regular correspondences with WV field team and WFP team for timely transportation of food commodities to the respective targeted program areas;
• Plan the required budget to facilitate the receipt of food commodities;
• Plan the required number of porters and provide training ahead of time;
• Assist WVE field team to ensures proper preparations to receive commodities;
• Communicate with WFP team to commence transportation of food commodities as per the plan;
• Give support for WVE field team to confirm the receipt of food commodities in timely fashion;
• Supervises commodity management and tracking by regularly engaging in dispatch plan and dispatch status preparation, reporting and proper documentation;
• Regularly conduct monitoring visit to our respective warehouses to check for sound warehouse management practices and reconcile transaction documents;
• Checks that available warehouses meet acceptable compliance rate by the donor;
• Ensures that standardized and healthy storage practices are implemented in all program areas;
• Ensure food commodities quality handling and safety through establishing proper risk mitigation and control mechanisms including proper management of spray and fumigation services when required.
• Collect all the required data’s from field team to prepare daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports;
• Ensure the submission of weekly, monthly and quarterly commodity reports for the donor timely to maintain the requirements and reconciliation purposes;
• Ensure documentation process of all respective program areas for further reference and held an audit;
• Reports on and takes corrective action on losses, timely restoration of damaged food;
• Attend food assistance logistic coordination meetings including providing commodity and logistics management technical skills in any food assistance coordination and management working group meeting;
• Tracking of food commodities to ensure proper commodity accounting by checking quantities dispatched Vs received at final destination.
• Engage and ensure that appropriate tools like warehouse staff performance management, coaching and mentoring warehouse team to enhance smooth staff relations and ensure accountability

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 Years of experience in food programs either development or emergency, commodity and logistics coordination or facilitations;
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics management, Accounting , Disaster Management, Agriculture and related fields

Preferable Knowledge

• Strong knowledge and working understanding of WFP emergency and Resilience programs
• Demonstrated capacity to on commodity and logistic coordination / management;
• Experience in food assistance programing, Grants/project management, Market assessment and Analysis, Cash transfer programing, supply chain management, and report writing;                                                       
• Good understanding of humanitarian standards
• Good knowledge of local context
• INGO experience
• Ability to work in high tension and high security risk situations
• Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment
