Champion Communications is a media house registered under the Ministry of Trade & Regional Integration and Ethiopian Media Authority. It publishes the monthly Ethiopian Business Review magazine and the weekly Addis Maleda newspaper. The company is looking for competent professionals for the following position.

Activities:

• Coordinate the two editors-in-chief of Ethiopian Business Review magazine and Addis Maleda newspaper;
• Review, design, correct, and edit to provide high quality content and oversee the work of all writers;
• Ensure writers and editors are adhering by the rules and regulations of the organization and in compliance with legal procedures;
• Supervise the production and design of the publications;
• Oversee advertising sales and placements in print and digital versions;
• Coordinate the hiring, supervising, and training of editorial staff with the human resource manager; manage and decide on staff crossover between the publications;
• Strategize new business and editorial opportunities in coordination with new business development department.

Job Requirements

Skills & Experience

• Ability to handle multiple planning, scheduling, and budgeting duties under stressful and limited resource base;
• Strong background in writing, editing, and designing news;
• Knowledge of media and other relevant laws;
• A degree (preferably master’s) in media studies, business, economics, political science, development studies, and literature with at least 5 years of experience in media leadership.
