Addis Ababa University, Institute of Biotechnology (IOB) is seeking to fill the Assistant Professor vacancy indicated below.
Qualification
- Ph.D. in Industrial Biotechnology with specialization in Metabolic engineering/ Protein chemistry and engineering.
Work Experience
- An assistant professor should have at least 4 years of research and teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels in the specialization area requested. The candidate should have research experience in the specialization area requested as manifested by the research projects he/she has participated or led and articles published in reputable peer reviewed journals in the specialty areas requested.
- An Associate professor is expected to have at least 4 years of service after completing PhD in teaching and advising MSc and PhD students in the area of specialization requested. The candidate should also have a solid research experience as manifested by the research projects he/she has participated or led and articles published in reputable per reviewed journals in the specialty areas requested.
- For both ranks, the candidate should have an excellent working skills in various advanced bioinformatics tools relevant for analysis of data from experiments relevant for metabolic engineering and Protein engineering; as well as statistical tools such as R. The candidate should also have skills in running sample analysis and data management in equipment relevant for these fields.
