Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Associations (CCRDA)  

The Consortium of Christian Relief and Development Association (CCRDA) is a national nonprofit umbrella Association of over 400 secular and faith based NGOs/CSOs operating in Ethiopia.

Job Summary

The Membership and Ethics officer is responsible to maintain high integrity of CCRDA members by defining and reinforcing codes of ethics and accountability frameworks and polices relevant to the CSOs. The post holder seeks to ensure operational integrity, good governance and technical capability by providing qualitative and quantitative standards by which humanitarian products and processes can be evaluated and to measure accountability and quality commitments made by member organizations as specified in their accountability framework. It also measures the management systems used and the services provided by its members and governance system. Moreover, it oversee the organization and updating of CCRDA’s members’ data-base and profile In addition, the officer is responsible for facilitation of clustered supports, organizing regular meetings of the CCRDA General Assembly and holding election with the Office of the Executive Director.

Duties & Responsibilities of Membership and Ethics officer  

Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Program Development & Management Core Team, the Membership and Ethics officer performs the following duties:  

Ethics

  • Serves as expert adviser to the organization on matters pertaining to ethics. 
  • Ensures that ethical procedures are installed and consistently adhered to throughout the organization.
  • Works with Core Teams and Teams as well as other relevant internal and external stakeholders, to ensure that all CCRDA’s programs maintain high standards of ethics and accountability to beneficiaries in line with international humanitarian standards.
  • Simplifies and customizes global Core Humanitarian Standard on Quality and members to align their internal procedure and comply.
  • Develops Key Performance Indicators that would measure ethics.
  • Audits adherence to ethical and accountability standards periodically and generate reports.
  • Assists the Ethics Panel in its role of responding to alleged violations of the Code of Conduct 
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Develops and applies reward mechanisms that would reward those members that have exhibited exemplary ethical and humanitarian behaviors.

Membership Affairs

  • Enhances membership engagement by taking existing and creative measures.
  • Ensures sustainable and smooth overall coordination within CCRDA constituents.
  • Identifies emergent national and regional issues and mobilizes members for action.
  • Works with Core Teams and working Teams on matters pertaining to membership coordination.
  • Ensures effective membership acceptance due diligence.
  • Facilitates regular membership assembly meeting in tandem with the Office of the Executive Director
  • Coordinates clustered supports to members
  • Keeps and updates members data-base
  •  Performs other duties assigned by the Senior Director of PDM Core Team.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience 

  • University graduate with Master’s Degree in corporate governance, ethical leadership, corporate social responsibility, humanitarian accountability, and public funding community development project management with minimum 2 years of experience.
  • University graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in corporate governance, ethical leadership, corporate social responsibility, humanitarian accountability, and public funding community development project  management with minimum 4 years of experience.
