Scope:
- Reporting to the Research Manager based in Gambela, the plumbers will be responsible for the installation of Institutional/public handwashing facilities, fittings and properly connecting with the refugee permanent water supply system pipelines and ensuring proper operation & maintenance of the Handwashing facilities towards serving the intended purpose to the camp population.
Responsibilities:
Major/key responsibilities are
- Install pipeline for handwashing stations connected with nearby permanent water supply distribution systems pipeline, fixing all necessary inlet and outlet fittings of the water storage tanks and hand washing basin at the selected locations for pedal operating Institutional/public handwashing facilities.
- Inspection routinely the pipeline connected with permanent water supply system, all plumbing related works of the handwashing facilities and perform maintenance on time for the pipeline, and faucet leakage observed during the inspection.
- Ensures that all fast-moving fittings and valves at, pipelines, and handwashing station faucets, have enough backup.
- Identify & provide detailed pipes, fittings, and valves required for maintenance of the Institutional/public handwashing facilities and provide the list to the Research Manager, to facilitate timely procurement of the materials.
- Serve as technical focal person for activities related to plumbing activity of the handwashing facilities and managing day to day water operation, and leakage maintenance at each point of the handwashing facilities to ensure the pedal operating handwashing facilities serve the intended purpose to refugee communities
- Keep records of used/installed pipes, fittings, and other materials and report to the Research Manager.
- Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports and keep the supervisor informed of the installed pipes, fittings, and maintained the handwashing facilities
Job Requirements
Requirements
- TVET certificate in Plumbing or related field and three years of relevant experience
- TEVET Diploma in plumbing or related field and two years of relevant experience
- NGO experience is a plus.
- Basic English spoken and writing English
- Good in communication and interpersonal relation
- Basic computer knowledge (word and excel)
