New Zealand Milk Products S.c. invites qualified and competent applicants for below positions for is a direct foreign investment company create a Joint Venture with Faffa Foods and formed a company New Zealand Milk Products Ethiopia S.co. Which is a legally established company under Commercial code of Ethiopia. New Zealand Milk Products Ethiopia have 70% of the share and Faffa Foods have 30% and the Joint venture produce, packed and market our flagship Anchor brand fortified milk powder in Ethiopia. 

Position Summary:

To lead the site safety, health and environmental function. Accountable for the safety, health and environmental management systems at the site with a focus on compliance, sustainability, Improvement and staff engagement .Responsible for site internal and external environmental operation, monitoring and reporting, incident response, community liaison and staff coaching and guidance. 

Main Duties And Responsibilities:

Create and maintain a safe, productive work environment through:

• Role modelling a “Safety First” approach by ensuring all employees, contractors and bistros understand and adhere to the Fonterra safety policies, rules and safe work practices.
• Ensure H&S activities are consistent with the Fonterra Global Occupational Health and Safety Framework and good performance and leadership is recognized.
• Demand a high level of ethical behavior and team participation in H&S activities including driving structured problem solving of incidents, Safety Observation Tours (SOTs), Safety Work Practices (SWP) observations, audits, hazard reporting and management, incident reporting and management and health and safety training.
• Demonstrate personal urgency and ability to make tough informed decisions to ensure elimination of harm. Follow up by consistently sharing information with your team while instilling and environment of mutual commitment and cooperation.
• Be open, empathetic and supportive towards all employees and encourage safe, open and robust conversations around healthy and safety matters.
• Drive health, Safety and wellness culture. Ensure effective implantation of H&S initiatives at both group and local level. Work with Operations Manager to ensure H&S is effectively implemented and managed in the business.
• Taking full responsibility for all concerns of Health, Safety &environmental practice of the site.
• Train, Coaching and assessing team members Via Shop floor engagement program.
• Responsible to adhere to all sage work system instructions. Ensure processes are run in accordance with Fonterra’s SOPs and other standards

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

• MBA or Degree educated in Economics, Business, public health or other relevant industry qualifications.
• Proven ability to lead.
• 3 plus year’s relevant factory industry experience
• Highly developed organizational skills.
• Excellent analytical skills that can be used when making critical decisions.
• A high level of proven project management ability.
• An in-depth understanding of productivity management and how to implement change to improve productivity levels.
• Significant experience in the area of business development.
• Highly developed level of strategic thinking that has been proven in a business environment.
• Significant experience of working in a senior management role.
• Excellent English and Amharic language skills, both written & oral.
