Job Description

Purpose of the Role

The Digital Media Coordinator is responsible for coordinating communication with consumers across various social and digital media platforms.

The person works with and through a wide range of resources to create, collect or otherwise source content that is engaging and assures timely and frequent engagements with consumers online. The role is key in the company’s marketing strategy and the way the company aims to build its brands with consumers.

Scope of the Role

  • The role is key in direct communication with consumers. Brand building will happen to a large extent on social and digital media and the coordinator is one of the main pivotal roles in this.
  • The role assures proper planning and execution of the production and communication of content across various digital media.

Key Responsibilities of the position

  • Plan content development
  • Assures content development is executed within digital media budgets.
  •  Actively works to gather, create or source content through a variety of means.
  • Works with the creative team to produce various types of content in line with campaign tactics.
  • Identifies partners or individuals to work with for the production of content, manages contracts and details of cooperation with those parties.
  • Creates engaging platforms or mechanics for consumer-contributed content
  • Uses merchandising or other forms of incentivization to boost online engagement, interactions and campaign participation.
  • Tailors various content types to various social media channels and the larger network usage and structure 

Consumer engagement

  • Develops policies for consumer interaction.
  • Assures rapid responses to consumers with questions, concerns or comments. Aligns this with customer service policies and internal complaints handling. Assures that all comments of various natures are dealt with smartly and professionally.
  • Puts policies in place and revises critically to prevent negative online sentiment.
  • Sets up the structure to set the company up uniquely in the digital beverage landscape in Ethiopia.
  • Coordinate post planning
  • o Assures weekly, monthly, quarterly post planning and execution with no gaps.
  • Has clear post planning in line with other campaigns and across platforms with clear goals and targets across channels.
  • Assures smart timing of posts based on insights in cooperation with market intelligence

Evaluation and measurement

  • Assures clear targets for all campaigns with measurable metrics.
  • Sets up dashboards for reporting and assures consistent measurement of activities.
  • Works with market intelligence team to gather further insights on online activities.
  • Actively tracks competitor activity on digital media.
  • Takes best and worst practices from other brands and implements learnings.
  • Works with marketing and intelligence teams to gather a wide range of (qualitative) feedback from consumers.

Digital Media innovation

  • Identifies key software development companies and works closely to develop various types of new, digital media tools and engagement methods.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Well-versed in the digital media landscape and has a deep understanding of various platforms
  • Entrepreneurial team player excited to contribute to the section, department and company success
  • Highly motivated with a drive and enthusiasm to do things differently in the current as well as the future Ethiopian beverage market.
  • Has a deep understanding of communication and how messages come across.
  • Has a deep understanding of Ethiopian (contemporary) culture, values, news, politics and other
  • Understands what’s in the public minds, reads up on news, understands sensitivities.
  • Good sense of humor
  • Highly energetic and high learning curve/ appetite.
  • Good balance between in-office work and on-the-ground collection of content.
  • who has 1-2 years’ of work experience in the field preferably in communication or related fields.
