Job Description

Responsible for the planning, managing, coordinating and the financial controlling of WAF’s Programs Ensure the projects are completed on time and within the budget. The project objectives are achieved. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Ensures internal integration of project activities through: 1) the annual work plan and budgeting process; 2) creating/maintaining an effective project management team; 3) overseeing an effective monitoring and evaluation system;  
  •  Oversees all procurement activities, manages contracts, budgets and reporting requirements of the donors;
  • Manages all aspects of program staffing and creating/maintaining a clear organizational structure with specific roles, responsibilities and reporting lines and providing orientation and training to new staff on the mission and goals of the projects;
  • Prepares plan of actions and budgets for program activities;
  • Designs new projects and develops proposals for them;
  • Assists in overseeing the planning, budgeting and implementing programs;
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project cost using appropriate verification techniques 
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  •  Creates conducive working relationship with relevant partner organizations;
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Providing advice on the management of projects
  • Carrying out risk assessment and define mitigation plans
  • Prepares concept paper for donors;
  • Participates in M&E and impact assessment of projects;
  • Follows ups implementation of programs;
  • Carries out situational assessments about programs;
  • Prepares case stories, best practices and lessons learned;
  • Participates in capacity building of partners (CBOs, NGOs and concerned GOs);
  • Identifies training opportunities, design, and lead all training activities;;
  • Ensures positive work relationship with the program staff and working partners of WAF;
  • Work closely with CD, and M&E in overseeing the overall functions of the internal monitoring and evaluation set-ups;
  • Arranges regular meetings with staff to discuss activities accomplished and problems encountered etc.;
  • Using IT systems to keep track of people and progress

Job Requirements

EDUCATION/TRAINING

  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Sociology, Development or related fields  

EXPERIENCE

  • 4 years of relevant work experience 

OTHER SKILLS

  • Communication skill, good human relations
  • Firm belief in teamwork, gender equality
