Job Description

Generic Responsibilities

The purpose of the LFS assistant position is to assist in the day to day implementation of the LFS project . Use actions words such as conduct or assist for the position relevant responsibilities.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
  • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
  • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
  • Ensure proper filing of documents
  • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
  • Being based in Refugee Camps NRC Office, responsible for all Food Security and Livelihoods interventions of NRC in duty station.
  • Provide technical advice, backstopping and training on income generating activities, and other livelihoods related fields to Refugees and Hosting Communities.
  • Facilitate communities, community based organizations and community leaders in identifying target groups for NRC food Security and Livelihoods activities in and around refugee camps.
  • Help empower the refugee and hosting communities to enable them to manage their issues by themselves and be able to sustain Food Security and Livelihoods projects.
  • Ensure equal participation by all segments of the refugee and hosting communities, taking into consideration issues regarding gender, age, disability and clan affiliation
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate Food Security and Livelihoods projects performance and provide timely inputs, feedback and impact of the NRC Food Security and Livelihoods interventions
  • Play an important role in realization of project outputs and outcomes through timely implementation of activities in a well-planned, organized and coordinated manner.
  • Ensure that NRC’s objectives are disseminated and raise awareness of NRCs approach ensuring all implementation follows NRC policies and procedures

Job Requirements

Generic Professional Competencies:-

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Economics or related fields
  • 2 years of experience from working as a Project Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Some knowledge of English
