We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for a Procurement Operations Officer in Supply Chain Management within the Finance Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

Detailed Description

Reporting to the EHOD -Supply Chain Enablers, the role holder’s responsibilities will be to enable efficiency of procurement operations for User Functions by collecting and processing purchase requests and expediting their fulfilments, maintaining supplier and contract data, and monitoring performance in line with established procurement procedures. 

Job Responsibilities

Creation of Purchase Requisitions and Orders

  • Create and maintain purchasing catalogues in the ERP in accordance with defined rules
  • Receive User Function needs and translate them into Purchase Orders

Delivery Expediting

  • Review Open Purchase Orders and close/expedite deliveries as needed
  • Receipt Purchase Orders with relevant authorizations

Contract Administration

  • Derive and transfer meta data from contracts to contract management systems
  • Administer contract life cycle and report on actions needed
  • Maintain index and hard copy contracts where needed

Purchase Order Administration and Supplier Support

  • Receive and respond to supplier queries regarding purchase orders and invoicing
  • Train Users on Purchase Order Operations as needed.

Supplier Master Data

  • Maintain supplier master data through periodical updates

Reporting

  • Issue periodical reports on performance as needed.

 Key performance indicator areas:

  • Timely processing of purchase orders/requests
  • Completeness of purchasing catalogues
  • Efficiency of contract life cycle management

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing and Supply Chain, or a degree in a business or technology field with a Graduate Diploma Qualification in Supply Chain Management
  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in procurement with exposure to general buying, purchase order processing, supplier performance management and overall purchasing operations.
