We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Products and Services Assurance Specialist in within the Legal and Risk Function in Ethiopia. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below. 

Detailed Description 

Reporting to the EHOD - Business Assurance, the role holder will be responsible for assurance to the business that all products and services are functioning as intended and that all service revenues due to the company are accurately captured and billed. This will be achieved by ensuring that all new and existing products and services are adequately tested, all revenue generating systems appropriately configured and payments accurately computed and invoiced and through post launch reviews for all products and services.

 Job Responsibilities 

  • Advice the organization on any potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security, existence and profitability or financial prosperity of the organization in relation to new and existing products and services
  • Continuously monitor compliance to approved business rules, policies and procedures and guide the respective business functions to implement actions to address areas of non-compliance
  • Ensure that all rating and billing systems are accurately set up and are aligned with the approved business rules to ensure minimal revenue loss.
  • Manage the development of appropriate processes and procedures that will ensure all product and services revenue streams are tracked, and deviations in revenues explained.
  • Ensure that churn is monitored and correlations between churn and our entire products milestones are explained.
  • Continuously review the operating environment to identify new and emerging risks and advise the organization on the various means to mitigate the identified risks
  • Manage the process of performing revenue trends and data mining to detect abnormal activity and possible revenue loss;
  • Provide management with information on cause and effect on changes in revenue trends;
  • Provide monthly Assurance reports with details per revenue streams and factors that affected the stream within the month;
  • Perform margin analysis per product/ service and carry out post launch reviews of new products/ services launched to evaluate effectiveness

Job Requirements

  • A graduate with a degree in Economics, Commerce, Engineering or IT.
  • Professional certification in Auditing, Accounting, Risk Management or Information Systems will be added advantage
  • Relevant post-graduate education is an added advantage
  • Have at least 5-7 years’ experience in Assurance, Risk Management and/or Management of Business Process Improvement
  • Ability to analyze significant amounts of data and information and distill it to the key points that help Senior Management analyze risk in a given situation
  • Capability to accumulate, summarize and interpret risk reports from business units, support units and assurance units
  • Have strong business acumen and highly developed commercial experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level experience and skills working with stakeholders A methodical approach with proven experience designing and delivering complex technical roadmaps
  • Understanding of working with 3rd party technology suppliers
  • Strong business acumen and mindset
  • Ability to persuade stakeholders and to champion effective techniques through delivery
  • Ability to drive initiatives without any formal authority in an ambiguous rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to guide/teach others in architecture principles
  • Working knowledge of all technical domains in telecoms including VAS, Charging, CRM and Digital Financial Services
  • Proven track record for delivery of large scale, complex projects delivering IT/Telco customer solutions; demonstrable leadership skills and organizational experience.
