Job Description

  • Manage systems support staff including mentoring, leading, coaching and training to ensure achievement of Information Systems’ and agency goals and objectives and to inspire employee engagement and job satisfaction. Plan and schedule work including coordinating the activities of team members. Write and maintain objectives as well as performance plans and reviews for team members.
  • Manage internal Networks (wifi and cable) of the company including its Branches.
  • Oversee and participate in design, implementation, administration and support of Internal infrastructure systems, including call center and telephony system, ERP systems, backup systems and operations, load-balancers and systems software. Ensure support, capacity, performance, reliability, security, usability and disaster preparedness of Internal infrastructure systems.
  • Oversee and participate in design, implementation, administration and support of platform systems, including Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Exchange, Group Policy, and identity and access management products, monitoring products, configuration management products and applications. Ensure support, capacity, performance, reliability, security, usability and disaster preparedness of platform systems
  • Research, assess and evaluate new, upgraded and developing systems and technologies to determine suitability for current and future agency enterprise computing needs. Evaluate system design for discrepancies and vulnerabilities; suggest and carry out improvements. Provide recommendations including new features, capacity and licensing requirements, high availability, identity integration and risk assessment as appropriate.
  • Oversee and participate in the development and documentation of best practices, operating procedures and guidelines and provide quality control through the application of standards and by ensuring that user requirements are met. Analyze existing procedures for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information, materials, and the information being processed stored, or accessed.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of ITSM standards, tools, and methodologies.
  • Develop, collect, and analyze metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work with internal and external partners, facility operators, and our hardware vendors to design and develop a roadmap for the evolution of our infrastructure platform strategy.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of R&DE IT through the application of ITIL Service Delivery practices.
  • Design, develop, install, and maintain operating systems, utilities, and applications software on computing systems.
  • Resolve system emergencies with significant impact on the integrity of user data and systems.
  • Design, configure, implement, and maintain system security strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Establish software/hardware standards and systems policies and procedures.
  • Engage in long-term strategic planning with regard to systems development and integration.
  • Conceptualize and implement systems within broad technical or structural frameworks.
  • Perform capacity planning for system configuration, software services, network services, load distribution, and service interrelationships among computer systems.
  • Act as a technical expert or lead for local computer system administration.
  • Act as project leader on large-scale computing projects in which strong technical, directional, and personal leadership is necessary; assign and oversee the work of other system administrators as needed.
  • Manage vendor relationships and cost-effective hardware and software maintenance agreements with vendors.
  • Monitors transactions between application systems and the database for the purpose of identifying and improving inefficiencies.
  • Provides audit trails to detect potential security violations.
  • Makes recommendations to improve security.
  • Participates in security investigations as needed.
  • Assures that appropriate information security is applied in all tasks.
  • Provides production support/ database access 24 hrs. X 7 days a week and ensures high availability.
  • Conducts Level 3 support.
  • Determines the appropriate course of actions for fixing problems, identifies and mitigates risks, and implements solutions.
  • Escalates/communicates issues when necessary.
  • Assists in establishing and supporting enterprise policies, processes, and standards.
  • Ensures standards are adhered to.
  • Monitors performance against service agreement levels.
  • Participates in the developing SLAs.
  • Ensures that operating level agreements are met with internal/external clients.
  • Coaches and mentors team members.
  • Provides performance feedback to managers.
  • Evaluate future technologies and makes recommendations for software and hardware upgrades and technology solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 7 or more years of System and Network administration experience and working with various open-source systems

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating system
  • Strong experience in Network administration and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of information systems, call center systems, ERP, and Telephony applications
  • Strong knowledge of Office automation
  • Calmly takes control of high-pressure situations
  • Strong understanding of active directory, Email systems
  • Maximizes the output of limited resources.
  • Shifts tactics and redefines organizational priorities.
  • Implements new practices when original approach and assumptions are no longer valid
