Major duties:-
- Assist the project officer in situational assessement, operational planning, implementation and monitoring of the IDP activities.
- Provide individual and group psychological first aid/ psychosocial support to children and women affected by the conflict to enable them restore their safety, dignity and hope.
- Facilitate consultations and discussions with beneficiary populations, making sure they are involved in needs assessment delivery of protection/assistance and development/implementation of durable solutions.
- Closely work with local authorities and relevant government sector( Women and children affairs, education, social affairs, schools etc.) to facilitate recovery and reiteration of the affected population.
- Facilitate school enrollment for boys and girls and closely work with parents, community leaders, civil society organizations and other actors to ensure safety of children on the way to and from schools.
- Ensure application of standards, guidelines and good practices for child protection and GBV in emergency related activities.
- Coordinate and manage the establishment of child friendly spaces in collaboration with school, local authorities, and faith leaders.
Job Requirements
Qualifications Required: BA Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Education and other relevant fields.
- Technical Training qualifications required: Professional technical skill associated with WASH related training, experience is desired
- Experience: At least 1-year relevant experience in Child Protection and related areas, program/project development and management in emergency context is required.
- Direct case management and experience working with children and adolescents is an asset.
