Job Description

Purpose of the position:

The WASH Learning and Documentation Officer will take good quality Photos and Videos of the WASH Program Operations in different locations of the country. He/she will avail information to the Reporting and Communication coordinator to compile periodic reports for the different stakeholders. He/she is also responsible for drafting and managing calendar of periodic events and organizational celebrations for WASH major activity reporting. Manage proper documentation for all WASH projects and share timely-relevant information to concerned ones. Communicate World Vision's Christian ethos and demonstrate a quality of spiritual life that is an example to others

Major Responsibilities:

Consortium Project monitoring, coordination and liaison

  • Expected to produce and provide high quality photos and Videos of the life-cycle of WASH projects as directed by the guidelines and archive and document sequentially.
  • Play a key role in the identification, capturing, distributing, sharing & replication of best practices and success stories by interviewing and establish contact with project managers and staff to get regular feedback and discuss the progress of the project
  • Liaising with concerned WASH program staffs, ensure effective communications, visibility and knowledge management of the WASH Division through developing different publication materials such as brochures, posters, update for website, update for social media, etc.
  • Create and manage standardized templates related to information gathering/synthesis, donor reporting, and other purposes (e.g., narrative, financial, graphic, presentation, mapping, etc.)
  • Produce high-quality work that can be shared with local and international audiences and properly documented.
  • Maintain well organized WASH information data base for documentation.
  • Undertake periodic supervision on the different WASH projects implemented and work closely with field offices to ensure appropriate WASH documentation is in place.
  • Promote major cross cutting themes including environment, gender, protection, disability, peace building and Christian commitment.

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

Required Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience for MA and 6 years for BA working in the context/ field of International Development projects.
  •  NGO work experience preferably in the WASH sector.

Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification

  • MA/BA Degree in Media and Journalism, Communications, English Language, Sociology and/or other related fields
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), Ms. Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel)
  • Training and experience in Audio visual development and photography
  • Special training on graphic design and HTML
  • project history documentation and archive skills are strongly required.

Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

  •  Excellent written and spoken English is essential
  •   Experience in designing, compiling, editing and producing high quality videos.
  •  Excellent skills in producing communication materials that are understandable and engaging
  • Proven experience in production of learning and advocacy contents on development related issues
  • Demonstrated ability to manage processes and maintain accurate organizational records;
  • Demonstrated effective organizational skills and ability to handle work in a timely manner;
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with respect for diversity;
  • Willingness to field travel regularly

 Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Office-based with Frequent travel to project sites
