Purpose of the assignment: The purpose of this consultancy is to provide TA for all Local Implementing partners (LIPs) on the COVID19 transmission prevention activity targeting community service providers and PLHIVs in all implementation regions.
Duration: Two Months, from December 20 - February 19, 2022.
Reporting Lines:
The consultant will report to the HIV Prevention and Treatment Program Director with a dotted line to the DSDM Advisor
The consultant is expected to schedule and hold frequent virtual and in-person meetings with project HOPE staffs during the period of the consultancy.
Objectives of the assignment
- To develop/Adopt community based IPPS training materials
- To develop/Adopt COVID-19 IP patient education materials
- Develop/produce /Adopt COVID-19 audio-visual patient education materials
- Provide basic and TOT trainings on COVID-19 IPPS for Prime and Sub-Award LIPs Program Managers, Technical officers, and Service Providers
- Summarize and compile COVID 19 prevention activities performance reports.
Specific Roles of the Technical Consultant
- Work closely and in collaboration with the project HOPE care and treatment team in order to achieve the planned objectives.
- Develop/adopt training manual and materials on COVID 19 infection prevention & patient safety (IPPS) as per the expectations of the Project HOPE Care and treatment team.
- Develop/produce SBCC materials including audiovisual Infection Prevention patient education materials on COVID prevention.
- Provide TOT for Prime and Sub-Award LIPs Program Managers, Technical Officers and Service Providers at a training place and venue selected by Project HOPE.
- Technically Support & provide follow-up to prime & sub awardee LIPs on the proper cascading of Infection Prevention & Patient Safety trainings for their respective community service providers & service users.
- Facilitate the distribution of COVID-19 Infection Prevention kits (face masks, hand sanitizers and soaps) for community service providers & service users through LIPs. This includes development of distribution checklists and allocation of the materials for Local Implementing Partners (LIPs), supporting Prime LIPs in conducting distribution allocation to Sub-awardee LIPs, and conducting post-distribution monitoring to intended users.
- Strengthen the handwashing facilities of community based SDPs through conducting need assessments and provision of targeted support based on assessment findings.
- Provide technical assistance to capacitate Local Implementing Partners on all areas mentioned above to help them contribute to the reduction of the burden of COVID-19.
- Prepare and submit detailed work plan for approval by the Project HOPE care and treatment team, conduct proper documentation of the implementation of mentioned activities and submit a comprehensive report on the Consultancy activity to the Project HOPE care and treatment team.
- Execute other tasks assigned by the supervisors.
Deliverables
- IPPS TOT training provided based on adult learning principles for Prime and Sub-Award LIPs Program Managers, Technical officers and Service Providers.
- Infection Prevention & Patient Safety training manuals printed and distributed.
- Infection Prevention patient education materials Printed & distributed to service users.
- COVID 19 prevention kits distributed and availed at all SDPs.
- Ready to use audio visual patient education materials to be utilized by HFs
- Documented quality reports on trainings, procurement and supply of commodities and other COVID 19 prevention activities undertaken.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Candidates for this Consultancy position should hold a Minimum of master’s degree in public health or Bachler degree in medicine/health officer/nursing.
- Minimum of 7 years work experience.
- Knowledge & Experience of working on COVID 19 prevention & control activities
- Experience in developing different training manuals and guidelines.
- Adequate Knowledge and experience on national HIV program implementation standards, community-based HIV service delivery platforms and soon
- Prior experience in PEPFAR programming & working with different NGOS is preferable
- Have proper Training on IPPS & COVID 19 prevention & control and experience of provision of Trainings in these areas
