About GAIN

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation was launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, we aim to transform food systems so that they deliver more nutritious food for all people.

GAIN has been re-registered and accorded legal personality with re-registered and accorded legal personality with registry Number 2896 by Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Agency for Civil Society Organization. GAIN in Ethiopia is working on different project on nutrition.

Expanding the work, GAIN is in the process of starting a new project which focuses on food safety. The project is anticipated to be launched in January 2022. For this reason, GAIN will organize an event which serves as an important milestone to ensure participants/stakeholders understand the program and what is going to be implemented. The professional videographer will play an important role in documenting this event with high quality video

The objective of the event is to launch the EatSafe program. The launching event will be held in Hawassa town in January 2022 (exact date to be determined).

Duty and Responsibilities

The videographer will work under the overall supervision of EatSafe team. During a half day even, he/she is expected to carry out the following tasks: 

Before the event

• The videographer is expected to have a meeting/briefing with the respective program team before the event to discuss on the workplan.
• The contractor must have good command of own videography equipment (cameras, lenses, lights, filters, tripods), as well as video-related image editing software. 

During the event:

• The videographer is obligated to attend at least 1 hour before the event started and stand by until the session of the ends
• Filming various aspects of the event
• The videographer is expected to show appropriate sensitivity towards the people they are filming.

 After the event:

• File organization and uploading, properly name, organize and upload all captured content to a cloud-based platform to allow GAIN team, HQ team to access and download for use.
• Produce a summarized 10 to 15 minutes film based on the guidance of GAIN staff
• In addition to supplying videos, the videographer will also be required to submit captions. The captions should include names of subjects included in the video and organization.

Deliverable/Expected outputs:

• The Videographer will provide the following delivering/outputs:
• Good quality videos from the event for use of social medias and publications.
• The final sets of edited videos (including caption information) will be delivered on portable storage devices /emailed (as requested) to GAIN
• He/she is also expected to deliver proofs of videos to GAIN office no more than thirty days(30days)with in 7 days after the date of the event

Job Requirements

For this assignment, GAIN Ethiopia requires a consultant with the following experience and technical capacity:

• Excellent videography skills
• Ability to provide own filming equipment, including professional cameras and audio equipment
• Qualifications as professional videographer and a demonstrated minimum of 2 years’ experience as professional videographer, including coverage of public event
• Good knowledge of technical requirements and settings for taking videos in various settings (i.e. outdoor, indoor, portraits, group activities etc.)
• Experience with INGOs will be an asset
• Proven experience in working with video edit software
• Ability to deliver high quality work even when under pressure
