Job Description

As an International Christian Humanitarian Development organization, World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is trusted to deliver integrated programs with target communities through its 51 Area programs (APs) located in seven regional states of the country. WVE envisions a thriving organization where our strong leadership at all levels results in improved delivery of results for children.

  Purpose of the position:

The purpose of the Project Coordinator position is to support the project implementation quality and impact through the provision of technical assistance and advice in the areas of livelihood security. The Project Coordinator demonstrates best practices, innovative methodologies, and approaches to analyze and program interventions that address underlying causes of the conflict, humanitarian crisis, and lack of development in the project location. She/he takes part in proposal design teams and senior program structures program builds and maintains collaboration with government technical bodies, other NGOs, civil society, and the private sector. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Programs development & planning: closely work with project coordinator, facilitates and prepares annual plans and budgets through closely working with sectoral officers. Participates in projects design and provide inputs to concept notes and proposals development as deemed necessary;
  • Monitoring and reporting: - Undertakes all projects’ and programs’ monitoring and reporting including using set performance indicators
  • Programs and Projects Evaluation: - With guidance from the response manager, facilitates project evaluations within response operational area and ensures proper coordination with respective stakeholders including the woreda government offices and participation of targeted local communities as required
  • Accountability: - With guidance from the response manager, facilitates rolling out social and project accountability frameworks and establishment of feedback mechanisms from targeted beneficiaries and also document learning and share best practices to the HEA team as well as across the organization. 
  • Surveys and assessments: - Participate on youth livelihood opportunity assessments with concerned units from NO, RO or CPO, and disseminate the findings to the Project manager and Amaro AP manager as fast as possible
  • Networking and Collaborate with Partners: - S/he will identify key users of the information sharing and facilitate comprehensive scoping for discussions with key stakeholders in the woreda. S/he reviews critical findings from monitoring, evaluation, and various survey reports for sharing with concerned stakeholders in the woreda for shared understanding, smooth operation, and promotion of cooperation. 
  • Other assignments: - Undertake other assignments given by the Project manager.  

Job Requirements

Qualification required:

  • BA/BSc Degree in Agriculture, Social sciences, Development Studies, and related fields.
  • Preferred: MA/MSc/MBA/MSW or BA/BSc Degree in Agriculture, Social Sciences, Development Studies, and related fields
  • At least three years’ work experience in NGO environment or development related field
  • Good understanding of transformational development
  • Understanding of World Vision’s development programs
  • Presentation, communication, networking, and partnering skills
  • Ability data collection and analysis using computer packages like Epi-info, SPSS, MS-Word, MS-Access, MS-Excel
  • Participatory Program and Project Designing, Monitoring and Evaluation Experience
  • A strong aptitude for organizational change, innovation, learning, team building

Working Environment / Conditions:

Work environment: Office-based

Travel: Frequent travel to project site, RO, CPO and AP

On call: 25%
