REPORTS TO: Principal Investigator
MINIMUM HOURS OF WORK: 40 Hours per Week
Specific Responsibilities:
- Provide gender and social inclusion (GSI) technical guidance related to the project’s objectives to the Principal Investigator (PI), the evaluation team and other key technical staff.
- Lead and/or collaborate with the PI as well as the Research and Evaluation team to conduct a GSI analysis at the beginning of the project, during implementation, report write up and dissemination.
- Support the PI to oversee the integration of GSI activities into the evaluation protocol, work plan and M&E plan and adjust activities to be responsive to GSI issues identified during the evaluation process.
- Provide technical guidance across the various components of the evaluation project to ensure GSI integration the development of data collection tools, interview guides and trainings.
- Support the evaluation team and M&E Director to track and report against GSI-related indicators and disaggregating data appropriately to analyze results within each project component.
- In collaboration with the PI and the evaluation team, conducts a vigorous gender analysis to gain insight into how gender-related barriers, local beliefs and social norms affect immunization services.
- Prepare and deliver training content on gender- and socially inclusive curricula to evaluation team and data collectors.
- Support the evaluation team to ensure that training materials and participant engagement are gender- and social inclusion-sensitive.
- Provide overarching GSI technical support to all stakeholders in the evaluation project, including advising and supporting partners to integrate GSI considerations into activities.
- Review and provide technical feedback on interview contents, evaluation results and reports to ensure quality and full compliance with donor GSI policies and progress toward achieving GSI integration in the evaluation project.
- Develop tools, frameworks, and resources to enable better GSI integration in the evaluation project.
- Identify successful practices in the evaluation project that can be showcased in publications, communication materials, and dissemination conferences.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree or higher in the relevant subject area(s), preferably in gender, social work, education, international development, or community development required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience designing, managing, and implementing activities to promote gender equality and social inclusion;
- Strong understanding of issues related to gender equality in Health
- Experience ensuring GSI integration in project design, implementation and M&E required
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and transmit her/his vision to partners and colleagues
- Experience developing and delivering GSI-focused training
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks concurrently, and meet deadlines with attention to detail and quality
- Excellent written and oral communication and computer skills
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
