Job Description

As an International Christian Humanitarian Development organization, World Vision Ethiopia (WVE) is trusted to deliver integrated programs with target communities through its 51 Area programs (APs) located in seven regional states of the country. WVE envisions a thriving organization where our strong leadership at all levels results in improved delivery of results for children.

 Purpose of the position:

To provide and overall coordination of OCHA/HRF funded multisector project in West Guji (Glean and Melak Soda woredas). The core purpose is therefore to ensure the implementation of all project activities in accordance with sectors design, planned activities, and budget ensuring the project’s alignments with WV policies, country and donor contexts, OCHA/HRF rules, and regulations.

Formulate/implement and manage a National Office Reporting and Documentation Strategy and Plan, which will contribute to a high-quality ministry by promoting consistent use of project monitoring and evaluation together with project technical OFFICERS, coordinator, tracking progresses, facilitating accountability and feedback mechanisms at a project level.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Leads the preparation of ongoing situation reports, periodic updates, and analyses, by compiling and analyzing data, and related information on overall IDP, returnees, and humanitarian crisis in the target area, with specific protection, and prepare written inputs accordingly to inform effective program planning, development and management
  • Undertakes regular field visits to project areas and IDP/returnee sites, to assess local conditions and monitor progress.
  • Collect information; identify problems and constraints in order to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Design, prepare, monitor, and evaluate projects in the protection sector in partnership with civil society and government actors
  • Monitor, analyses and evaluate project results to ensure achievement of objectives and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Ensure application of standards, guidelines, and good practices for child protection in emergency-related activities
  • Participate in meetings with relevant coordination forums, local authorities, other actors, and donors to discuss and represent WVE’s work

Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years of work experience in project coordination and management preferably for multi-sector emergency response projects. 
  • NGO experience is preferred.
  • Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Economics, Development Studies, Agricultural Economics, and related fields.
  • Experience in OCHA/HRF funded projects is an advantage
  • Strong character, including emotional stability, adaptability, ability to handle stress, cultural and gender sensitivity, and integrity
  • Prepared to live and work in a remote and uncertain security environment
  • Very Good in oral and written in English

Working Environment / Conditions:

  • Work environment: field-based
  • Travel: travel to nutrition rehabilitation centers including over the weekends
  • On call: 25%
