Job purpose and scope:
The WomenEd network, gender and inclusion coordinator will deliver a dual role. Firstly, as WomensEd network coordinator (s)he will provide advice, information and guidance to the national and regional WomenEd networks and support the NSLT scale up focusing on inclusion of existing female school leaders. The coordinator will closely work the national and regional chambers at high level and with school leaders, supervisors and teachers and schoolgirls at grassroot level. She/he will also be expected to work with system leaders with the aim of strengthening female school leadership for learning thereby improving learning outcomes. (S)he is the coordinator with respect to female school leadership capacity development and advocacy work towards encouraging aspiring female teachers and schoolgirls with the national WomenEd network and five regional networks.
Secondly, as Gender and Inclusion coordinator s/he will be responsible for the implementation of the TARGET Gender and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy across all areas of TARGET. S/he will support TARGET in ensuring that gender equality and inclusion is prioritized across all activity, including school leadership CPD, delivery, monitoring evaluation and research.
and work with the SL CPD lead to embed outcomes and content in school leadership training that will strengthen opportunities for girls and improve their education.
Job Objectives:
- To support the implementation of school the national and regional WomenED networks in Ethiopia, including administration and logistics of activities in the framework of the network’s terms of reference and action plan.
- To support the monitoring and evaluation of activities, outputs and outcomes of the national and the five regional networks including data collection, analysis and reporting in close consultation with the TARGET Task 2 and MEL team
- To work with all task leads to implement and monitor GESI within their work
- ·To work with the Pillar 2 team to embed outcomes and content in school leadership training that will strengthen opportunities for girls and improve their education
Roles:
- Organize and co-facilitate the implementation of the national and regional action plans
- Contribute to the national school leadership training scale up activities and ensure participation of existing female school leaders and supervisors’ inclusion in the NSLT program
- Work with the National and regional networks and relevant sector officials for the success of the network objectives
- Identify and create positive working relationship with existing likeminded regional, national and international networks for the best result of our network ambition and to create a sustainability outcome
- Ensure the capacity development of existing female school leaders and supervisors through coaching and mentorship using the network
- Create suitable, accessible and continuities networking plat form exploring existing technology options
- Share both qualitative and quantitative data at appropriate levels
- Respond to requests for information and support, recording updates from the field on the network’s activities.
- Provide inputs into the national and regional work plan.
- Provide monthly report on the progress on the national and the five regions WomenEd network activities
- Ensure GESI outcomes and content are embedded in school leadership training that will strengthen opportunities for girls and improve their education
- Ensure GESI training is rolled out to regional staff and their counterparts
- Ensure GESI monitoring is regularly conducted for all task
- Perform any other duties as may be delegated by the Education technical lead and the School leadership training reform lead
Job Requirements
Person specification:
Knowledge
Essential
- Master of Arts from a recognized institution in educational leadership, teaching, gender studies, sociology or related field.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to complete tasks with precise deadlines.
- In depth understanding of the Ethiopian education system and recent reforms related to school leadership, school governance, competence-based education and teachers’ capacity development.
- Experience in program and/or project management (strategy, planning and coordination, administrative decisions, M&E);
- Experience working with national and regional professional networks
- Experience of supporting professional learning through mentoring, coaching, supporting workplace-based learning.
- Able to work under pressure and knowledge of education for equity – especially gender
Desirable
Knowledge of and/or experience with cross-cutting themes as child safeguarding and inclusive education.

- At least 8 years working experience with similar activities to the role mentions above
- Working experience within the Ethiopian education sector, preferably at Regional or federal level
- Working experience in an international (NGO) environment is an asset;
- Experience with working in a multicultural team is an asset;
- Strong experience in gender equity programs
