Job Description
The overall purpose of the TARGET program is to support GEQIP-E and the general education sector more broadly, to improve both student learning and equity. GEQIP-E is focused on improving school and system performance through direct interventions and relevant system strengthening. TARGET will support GEQIP-E to re-focus the system to improve learning outcomes through four integrated task areas, one of which is Task-3. In which Task 3 Enhanced school leadership to improve school performance. Were in supporting existing school leaders through in-service continuing professional development (CPD) to strengthen instructional leadership, accountability, and grant use, especially in the lowest performing schools, and to develop model interventions to identify what works in addressing the barriers faced by the most marginalized groups in the four emerging regions.
This School Leaders CPD program has been under implementation in collaboration with Link Community Development (LCD), Ministry of Education, Regional Education Bureaus, schools, and local government in 4 emerging regions. While now TARGET is planning for scale up of the SL-CPD in large scale in all regions, for which it in preparation stage which includes reviewing of the training toolkits considering the context and findings from the pilot implementation. Then translating the toolkits into local languages will be the next priority we are looking forward.
Objective
To translate SL-CPD Toolkits and related documents from English into local languages (i.e. Amharic, Afan Oromo, and Somali)
Purpose of the Assignment:
TARGET is seeking the service of an individual with the required high-level capacity to undertake in an efficient and swift manner the translation of the SL-CPD Toolkits and related documents from English to local languages (i.e. Amharic, Afan Oromo, and Somali).
Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of TARGET/Task-3 representative and in close collaboration with TARGET and MOE staffs, the consultant will undertake the following duties:
§ Ensure the timely delivery of translated materials from English to indicated local languages
§ Share draft translation with TARGET/Task-3 representative.
§ Incorporate suggested feedbacks and changes to the translation.
§ Ensure a high quality of work, reflecting the right terminologies and sense of Ethiopian education context (All texts, including text contained in figures, boxes, captions, sources and covers require translation and proof reading) to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of translation.
