Main purpose of the job

To direct and monitor a program for the technical and activities of all the farm machinery and equipment to operate at optimum levels with a minimum of downtime and fewer costs and ensure that all farming activities are completed as per the plan with optimum plant population

Main responsibilities

• Responsible for the technical and maintenance activities of the farm
• Oversees and directs the work performance of Mechanical and Maintenance workshop under all farm sites
• Coordinate’s workers, of technicians engaged in dismantling and assembling of machine engine parts and other detail equipment under maintenance activities
• Oversees resources, equipment, and supplies to ensure the operation of machines in the workshop meets their goals
• Assists in the planning of the annual workshop and maintenance activities budget the maintenance systems and farming mechanisms based on the strategic development plan of the company
• Follow up the timely supply of farm spare parts and completion of machinery, equipment, tractors spare parts and inputs such as the purchase of necessary machine parts
• Evaluates the financial movement of the maintenance activity, follow up of production costs, make sure that the financial situation of the maintenance activity and running cost is according to the budget proposed
• Schedules and evaluates the work performances of all staff under the maintenance workshops and daily works based on the standard work norms set
• Assists in maintenance manuals and procedures to ensure safety, as well as the production of quality products within budget guidelines

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

• At least a certificate from qualified technique college or university in Agricultural Machinery, Auto mechanic, Agro-mechanical engineering, and related fields
• At least 7 years experience as senior mechanic and farm technique and maintenance head
• Good knowledge of the commercial farming
• Excellent ability to read and understand digital spare part catalog, maintenance, and working manuals 
• Good knowledge of advanced and computerized farm machinery and implements
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of modern maintenance techniques
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
