Main purpose of the job

To oversee the delivery, storage, and dispatch of all materials and products to ensure that the company meets all orders by the agreed dates

Main responsibilities

• Oversee all imported and exported goods and ensure that they are loaded/unloaded, packed, transported, and stored efficiently and safely
• Oversee the despatch operation to ensure that it operates efficiently, effectively, and safely and meets customer requirement
• Regularly monitor the material handling and management of the warehouse staff to ensure the maximum use of available space and secure material quality and safety, use efficiency, and profitable operation that meets customer and business needs
• Monitor, all orders received and notify managers of production requirements to ensure that all production, despatch, and delivery dates and targets are met
• Develop and implement effective stock control and audit systems to ensure that all stocks are maintained at the levels necessary to meet production requirements
• Oversee the use and maintenance of the company’s vehicle fleet
• Negotiate contracts to secure the most commercially favorable terms for the company
• Maintain regular contact with the operation manager to ensure that there is effective supply and logistics to ensure customer requirements are met
• Monitor the working environment to ensure that company and statutory hygiene and safety policies and regulations are complied with and to provide a safe and healthy working environment
• Maintain all necessary transportation and packing records
• Train truck drivers in the packing process to ensure that they work efficiently and safely
• Monitor the supply and handling materials to ensure that there are sufficient stocks of products and to meet production requirements

Job Requirements

Knowledge, skills, and experience required

• At least BA degree in Supply Chain and Logistics Management with relevant technical qualification
• Five years and above experience in warehousing and logistics management in a related industry
• Managerial experience
• Good communication skills
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills
• Good interpersonal skills
