Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.) is transforming and diversifying from the current consultancy business operations. Taking advantage of the existing ECDSWCo.’s strength and maximizing on the newly emerging external opportunities that are being prevalent with the shifts in Ethiopian Economic Policy – the Corporation is aiming to play a significant role to the success of the Ethiopian Construction Industry -by creating a vibrant business institution that will not only fill the gap that is in the current construction industry, but also replace the need for having international construction companies that are dominating the government mega scale projects.

To this, the Corporation is emerging as an Engineering and Investment Group. The proposed name of the Group is ‘’Ethiopian Engineering and Investment Group (EEIG)’’. The Group will comprise of three main operational business units i.e., Consultancy, Construction and Investment.

EEIG-Construction business unit key activities are high-end complex construction projects, predominately high-rise commercial and residential buildings, real-estate; infrastructure (roads, railways and airports) & water and energy sector construction. EEIG-Construction alone would grow into a conglomerate of several business units including Piling, underground and foundation Works, Fit-Out, Energy (Solar Solutions), Electro- Mechanical Solution, Facility Management, Landscape and Construction Materials Production.

EEIG Construction is launched with the vision of being the best construction company in Ethiopia with a strategy of Timeously executing high-end complex projects, by utilizing proactive management skills as a Design and Build Contractor in order to achieve an optimum return and aspiring to be a competitive and preferred choice that can replace the current dependence on international contractors and deliver excellence. EEIG is going to build a 30 Floors Highrise Headquarter Building in the city centre of Addis Ababa – that will be design and build by its inhouse consultancy and construction business units.

Scope:

To manage the overall civil works relevant to your appointed area/section and measure the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the delivery team ensuring the works are carried out within the relevant cost and QA/QC requirements indicated within the specifications and business guidelines.

Top Responsibilities but not limited to: 

• Ensuring the quality of work performed on site meets and exceeds the project specifications
• Manage the daily deliverables relevant to the allocated work/s area.
• Ensuring that goal orientated construction is implemented on site. 
• Daily project delivery requirements must be issued to the relevant members of your team.
• Ensure that Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Schedules are issued to the relevant team members for site implementation.
• All site contract information must be up to date with correct drawing and materials scheduling in place.
• Ensuring that works / materials / equipment are correctly scheduled and planned in order for the project to be delay free
• Tooling & Access requirements need to be sourced per the delivery schedule/s.
• Ensure implementation of quality control and quality assurance procedures and testing.
• Ensure that all Method Statements & Risk Assessments are in line with company HSE/QA-QC procedures and suit the appointed Consultants requirements. This information must also be recorded on a usable platform.
• Manage a procurement item schedule in tandem with your Project Manager indicating delivery dates and the status of the pending material/s deliveries and follow up delivery dates whilst recording any issues which may impact programme delivery.
• Maintain the site delivery requirements in line with the primary programme ensuring that the relevant materials are on site to complete your work areas per the programme requirements.
• Develop a full understanding of all Sub-contractors/Suppliers Scope of Works and control their activities on site in accordance with the Programme and correct sequence.
• If required, Chair, coordinate and record regular subcontractor meetings and give instructions to subcontractors.
• Control the dissemination of contractual documents (drawings/contracts/specifications) – usable drawings and information must be issued to the relevant site team members to be able to carry out works per the specifications and contract requirements within the time frame of the programme.
• Changes to the scope of works must be forwarded to the Project Manager & Commercial Team immediately.
• Ensure that all necessary contractual records are detailed and recorded to Client.
• Uphold daily site records indicating internal and external constraints, materials and delivery requirements and maintain the works flow process. Audit all site requirements and maintain minimum site resource, consumable and tooling requirements. Interface with Sub-Contractors and Vendors to maintain delivery date requirements.
• Maintain Staff & Labour Performance Records and promote efficient and safe working conditions.
• Make sure that the labour evaluation process is upheld and Implement and track performance management for all employees on site.
•  Attending with employee needs, problems and well-being
• Promote a zero defect policy/LTI/Near Miss within the delivery team and uphold core delivery requirements.

Job Requirements

•  B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering 

Experience:

• 6 years proven total work experience of which at least 2 years as a Site Engineer, Senior Site Engineer, Project Manager, Structural Engineer or similar role.
• The ideal candidate having an international experience/or worked with international companies here in Ethiopia will be given priority.
• Must have a proven track record of the successful management of site / project works.
