Job Description

Employee Position Summary

  • Under the supervision of the Senior Finance Manger the Finance officer will be responsible for of checking of the scanned vouchers and upload to the Office 365, communicate field team on the missing vouchers identified and flag up incomplete document to the Addis Ababa and field office finance team. Verifying the accuracy of financial records, assisting in report generation, and filing the monthly financial; documents as per the financial procedures and policies.

 Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the preparation of journal vouchers and their relevant supporting documents, so that the financial details can be entered correctly in the accounting system and make sure the JVs are approved by concerning approves before posting to the system.
  • Responsible for overall checking of the financial vouchers before uploading to the office 365 and complete the upload to the office 365.
  • Responsible for the monthly document review of the field and Addis Ababa financial vouchers.
  • Prepare/update/facilitate bank signatory lists.
  • Checking all the financial vouchers from field and Addis and make sure the scanned vouchers are reviewed and uploaded in the Office 365.
  • Responsible for the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation when assigned by supervisor.
  • Make sure all the financial documents are labeled in line with field office and donor codes.  
  • Closely work with the field finance team and Finance assistant on day to day documentation. 
  • Other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance &Accounting, Economics, or relevant field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience directly related to financial management or accountancy, preferably with an international organization (NGO)
  • Active knowledge of English language writing and speaking
  • Proficiency in financial Accounting software, MS Excel and MS Word as well as good grasp on Internet and email communication.
  • Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines.
