JOB PURPOSE:

Dahabshiil Real Estate Company (DRE) is seeking to recruit a Country Manager for Ethiopia to join our growing team! The Country Manager will be expected to provide strategic leadership, oversee and execute operations in the Real Estate portfolio in Ethiopia, as well as creating a vision for success to achieve the principal objective(s) as defined by the Executive Vice Chairman/Board. The Country Manager will implement viable real estate development projects that align market opportunities with the company’s Vision and Mission.

This position requires an individual with a strong understanding of land use and development, deal structure and urban development. DRE is seeking an individual with experience in real estate development, financing, site acquisition, land utilization, and construction management in urban areas. A successful candidate will possess exemplary leadership, project management skills, and technical expertise. This role will need to execute and implement housing and commercial real estate projects utilizing both traditional and creative financing. Proforma development and the ability to lead and complete real estate transactions from start to finish is an essential component of this position.

In this role, you will have the ability to implement Residential, Commercial and Industrial developments, oversee asset management duties for the organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Real Estate or related field required.
  • Demonstrated related experience may substitute for required education.
  • Master’s Degree in Urban Planning, Real Estate Development, Architecture, Business Administration or related field from a reputable university with sufficient experience in practices and techniques to provide strong leadership in property management.
  • A Minimum of 5 years of professional work experience in real estate development, construction management and other related civil works, development financing or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience partnering , building and managing highly productive executive teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing housing and/or commercial development projects from concept to completion, including tenant lease-up and management
  • Strong knowledge of property management and tenant/landlord practices, laws, rules, and regulations in the country.
  • Strong familiarity with governmental processes and procedures related to real estate planning and development and working with community stakeholders.
  • Exemplary analytical and organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and highly-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proactive thinking with a detail-oriented and creative problem-solving approach.
  • Excellent research, computer and technology skills are required. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint are essential.
  • Access and other database experience is a plus.
  • The ability to use design, visual mapping tools such as GIS, ARC, Google maps, and other related tools is key.
  • High proficiency at financial modeling, Project budgeting, and ability to create a real estate development models and operating proformas.
  • Excellent command of English.
