General Duties and responsibilities

• The ICT Manager is expected to work closely with the CEO of AET PLC and lead the planning, organizing, and execution of all ICT functions and capacity building programs of ICT . He/she is responsible for the architecture, hardware, software and networking of computers including directing all ICT operations and assist the users of the network and systems, installing and configuring computer systems, diagnosing hardware and software faults and solve technical and applications problems. Ensure effective and efficient use of information and communication technologies and the smooth running of AET’s Automation Management, Information Systems, and all the Computer Systems as a whole.  He/she will be responsible for enforcing the ICT policies and roll out of new ICT products and policies, training of staff and monitoring and upgrading of IT infrastructure

• We are looking for an IT Manager to be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of our computer systems within the limits of requirements, specifications, costs and timelines. He/she will supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs. The successful candidate will have improved skills, a proven professional experience and a detailed knowledge of Software and Hardware, LAN/WLAN.

Responsibilities

• Manage information technology and computer systems
• Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations
• Manage the Company’s Automation Management Information System
• Ensure security of data, network access and backup systems
• Manage the use of Company’s Web site
• Manage IT staff by recruiting, training and coaching employees, communicating job expectations and appraising their performance
• Design, develop, implement and coordinate systems, policies and procedures
• Act in alignment with user needs and system functionality to contribute to organizational policy
• Identify problematic areas and implement strategic solutions in time
• Audit systems and assess their outcomes
• Preserve assets, information security and control structures
• Handle annual budget and ensure cost effectiveness
• Ensure that network access privileges, applications, data storage and regular backups are configured and maintained
• Implement and update a data disaster recovery plan (back up)
• Schedule computer related services, maintenance and license renewals of the web site, antivirus, etc..
• Ensure installation and maintenance of protection services (anti-viruses and firewalls)
• Plan network upgrades, expansions and replacements

• Proven working experience as an ICT Manager
• Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
• Expertise in data center management and data governance
• Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Ability to manage personnel
• MSC in computer engineering or computer science or information system or related field. with total of eight (8) years of relevant work experience out of which two (2) years are on managerial position
• BSC in computer engineering or computer science or information system or related field. with total of ten (10) years of relevant work experience out of which four (4) years are on managerial position
• Proficiency in both verbal and written language of English and Amharic.
