Job Description

Shemu Group is a conglomerate company composed of Shemu PLC, Asveza Ethiopia Retailing Share Company other functional private limited companies with a fast growth track record. The Companies in the group engaged in manufacturing (liquid soap, bar soap, Edible oil and shortening products), retail service providing, printing, trading and engineering. Based on this, our sister Company, Asveza Pay want to hire competent, energetic, enthusiastic and capable applicants for the post we have.

Major duties

Asveza Pay Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all branch operations, including staff hiring, training, and supervision. He/She will come up with appropriate strategies to increase profitability and performance levels in order to achieve the branch’s financial targets. Furthermore, besides their managerial duties, they are also responsible for attracting new customers and partners, as well as retaining the already existing ones.

  • Supervise the branch and ensures compliance with all policies and procedures at national level.
  • Assist the branch manager in implementing policies, procedures and internal controls at the branch.
  • Ensure that all operational & financial issues are running within the framework of existing regulations and management decisions.
  • Coordinates and supervise branch staff and ensure efficient delivery of service delivery operations.
  • Assists in coordinating and supervise the operation of the branches.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant. Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor business operations through KPIs & achievable targets.
  • Find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Help the organization’s processes remain legally compliant. Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Perform quality controls and monitor business operations through KPIs & achievable targets.
  • Find ways to increase quality of customer service and implement best practices across all levels.
  • Identify and address problems and opportunities for the company.
  • Oversee budgeting, M&E, reporting, planning, and auditing.
  • Recruit, induct, train, supervise and mentor your team for career development.
  • Support staff communication with the management team.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations.
  • Lead the process of project implementation for specific projects that the organization is running with.

Job Requirements

  • B.A. or M.A. in business fields
  • Proven work experience as Operations Manager or Manager in Microfinance set-up at least 5 years experience as a Manager of a microfinance.
  • Proven experience in business development will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management
  • Experience budgeting and forecasting
  • Familiarity with business and financial principles
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven experience in leadership.
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Proficient in using core banking system in Microfinance set-up.
  • Experience in deployment of Core Banking system.
