INTRODUCTION:
- Ayuda en Acción Foundation is an international non-government organization working in development and humanitarian works. Ayuda en Acción Ethiopia a branch of AeA and registered as foreign charity organization in Ethiopia and working in partnership with multiple development actors, government sectors, communities and their organizations to eradicate poverty. Our primary task is to promote improvements in the individual and collective capacities of the children, families and communities with whom we work.
Job Purpose
- Ayuda en Acción is seeking experienced candidates for the position of Program Officer to develop and implement the Wolayita Development Program. The programs are based in a long term territorial development approach working in several sectors as education, children empowerment, WASH, and resilient livelihoods and women empowerment among others in Kindo Kosha district of Wolayita Sodo Zone.
Position Description:
The successful candidate will report to the respective Field Program Manager and provide the overall implementation and monitoring of the programs being ultimately responsible for delivery and reporting of planned program activities.
Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
- Report to the respective Field Program/project manager.
- Represent Ayuda en Acción in the woreda and establish partnerships with Public and Private Stakeholders.
- Carry out the implementation and monitoring of the 3 years plans and annual operation plans for the field Program/project.
- Supports the Field program/project office in designing new program/projects.
- Supports the program/project office in the management of resources (human, financial and material).
- Understand and assure the implementation of any system security and safety procedures and requirements to human resources management.
- Protect the completeness, accuracy and integrity of accounting data and information based on AeA policies, procedures, donor regulations, and the law of the land.
- Document and sharing the processes and accomplishment of all program/project to the Ayuda en Accion knowledge-base.
- Documenting and reporting as per the AeA policies, procedures, donor regulations, and the law of the land.

Job Requirements
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in sociology, social work, social anthropology, agriculture, natural resources management, cooperative development, community development, agribusiness, or development studies.
- A minimum of 4 years proven work experience in long and short term projects/programs implementation and monitoring, implementation of humanitarian programs, child sponsorship activities, project development for Fund raising from reputable institution/s preferably in the NGO sector.
- Good experience in human, financial and material resources management,
- Knowledge and practical application of participatory development, monitoring and evaluation approaches and tools.
Qualities and key Competencies
- Ability to carry out complex tasks, and work independently and take initiative.
- Good community mobilization, report writing skills with good written and spoken English.
- Good communication and computer skills.
- Able to communicate the respective local languages and culture.
Other requirements:
- Availability to travel and to move to rural areas.
- Good behavior and attitude.
Offer Terms
Time of joining: Immediate
Type of contract: One year contract with with possibility of extension.
