Job Description

Job Summary

  • Lead and coordinate the implementation of JEOP activities and take all the necessary steps to make sure program implementation is in accordance with the objectives or purpose of the program;
  • Manage the day-to-day implementation of the Food Resource Programs according to the approved objectives and plan of actions
  • Liaise and meet with donors and other food programming stakeholders for purposes of networking, information sharing and to nurture partnerships
  • Engage surprise & regular field visit to ensure and install a standardized food assistance resources and warehouse management system according to WV/donor standards at Woreda level and follow WVE/Donors warehousing management practices
  • Monitor and evaluate budgeted and actual expenditure for the food resources grants with the finance manager and or relevant Grant Accountants on a monthly basis. 
  • Leading, directing and supervising role of JEOP staff under his supervision (Eastern & Southern Zones)
  • Assist in capacity building of the food team to meet established standards through on-the-job training, workshops, mentoring and any other appropriate methods

Job Requirements

  • Education: Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Agric. Econ, Disaster Management, Rural Development, Economics, Development Studies and other related fields
  • Experience: 6 years experiences on USAID funded emergency food assistance projects
  • Knowledge of Excel, MS Word and MS Access, Power Point;
  • Ability to work harmoniously under a multicultural set up
  • Exposure to food aid programs in the country
  • Experience in managing USAID funded food resources, Commodity management skills and trainings, logistics and financial management.
  • High degree of initiative, integrity and accountability
  • NGO experience and excellent understanding of generally accepted commodity accounting and Title II commodities management
