Job Summary

FH Ethiopia is a non-governmental organization engaged in relief and development activities. At FH, we operate under a set of guiding principles we call the “The Heartbeat”. FH Ethiopia would like to invite potential candidates to apply on the following position for Tigray Emergency Response JEOP.

Position title: JEOP Regional Manager

Duration of contract: 1 year Contract

Basic Responsibilities:     

Key Result #1 - Planning activities     

  • In consultation with the Humanitarian Response Manager, organize trainings and follow up the outcome. 
  • Participate in JEOP program coordination meetings.
  • Facilitate project staff & government counterpart’s capacity building training on JEOP program implementation guidelines, monitoring and reporting.
  • Closely follow the budget utilization, and prepare monthly variance report  

Key Result #2 - Program Implementation   

  • Regularly coordinate and guide JEOP Area Managers on commodity dispatch and distribution in a timely manner.
  • Advise respective JEOP Area Managers on allocation of food and dispatch and coordinate activities with JEOP staff.
  • Organize monitoring of JEOP program with immediate supervisor.

Key Result #3 - Program Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Facilitate frequent monitoring of commodities that are kept carefully at different warehouses as per the USAID standards and timely inform to JEOP Coordinator.
  • Receive allocation of food and beneficiaries from CRS and share to each woreda.

Key Result #4 - Reporting 

  • Prepare JEOP reports in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and send commodity distribution reports as per the format sent from CRS. 
  • Handle any additional assignment given from his/her supervisor.

SAFETY AND SECURITY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security policy of FH. Lapses in safe conduct can jeopardize the health and welfare of all staff.
  • Every FHE staff member has an obligation to learn and understand the security situation where they are located.
  • Each FHE staff member should adhere to all pertinent policies concerning safety and security. This includes, but not limited to, personal safety, road safety, etc.

GENDER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide adequate time to staff to participate in gender sensitivity workshops and related events.
  • Through observation, interviews, and spot-checks, ensure that the staff planning, Implementation, monitoring and Evaluation process is gender sensitive.
  • Facilitate open and regular discussions with staff on about the work environment, policies, and values convenient to gender issues.

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Masters or BSc Degree in Agriculture or in other related field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience preferably in an NGO setting is an added advantage.
  • Computer literate, Interpersonal skills
  • Enthusiasm about the Heartbeat of FHE
