Job Description

Job Summary

The Deputy Chief of Party will provide technical and management leadership for the program’s technical focus and is responsible for technical excellence and compliant implementation of interventions. The DCOP will oversee senior technical staff. S/he will provide leadership and strategic direction for: planning and implementation of program activities, facilitate collaboration with key stakeholders, donors and other partners; ensure program teams collaborate effectively and efficiently with administrative and MEL teams for delivery on planned activities within budget; ensure program reports are of high quality; promote an enabling work environment for employees, and facilitate performance management measures.

Job Requirement

  • Minimum Master’s in public health, policy or related field; MD plus Master’s preferred
  • 10-12 years relevant professional experience, with 6 years in senior positions working with public and private sector health programs;
  • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of public and private healthcare systems in Ethiopia;
  • Excellent working relationships with key officials in the Ethiopian Ministry of Health, regional health bureaus and entities and private health sector advocacy bodies; and ability to operate at high levels in the Ethiopian and international public health communities;
  • Proven track record managing a project team composed of several technical experts and fostering team work;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the capacity to prepare and deliver formal presentations in Amharic and English;
