Ethiopian Construction Design and Supervision Works Corporation (ECDSWCo.) is transforming and diversifying from the current consultancy business operations. Taking advantage of the existing ECDSWCo.’s strength and maximizing on the newly emerging external opportunities that are being prevalent with the shifts in Ethiopian Economic Policy – the Corporation is aiming to play a significant role to the success of the Ethiopian Construction Industry -by creating a vibrant business institution that will not only fill the gap that is in the current construction industry, but also replace the need for having international construction companies that are dominating the government mega scale projects.

To this, the Corporation is emerging as an Engineering and Investment Group. The proposed name of the Group is ‘’Ethiopian Engineering and Investment Group (EEIG)’’. The Group will comprise of three main operational business units i.e., Consultancy, Construction and Investment.

EEIG-Construction business unit key activities are high-end complex construction projects, predominately high-rise commercial and residential buildings, real-estate; infrastructure (roads, railways and airports) & water and energy sector construction. EEIG-Construction alone would grow into a conglomerate of several business units including Piling, underground and foundation Works, Fit-Out, Energy (Solar Solutions), Electro- Mechanical Solution, Facility Management, Landscape and Construction Materials Production.

EEIG Construction is launched with the vision of being the best construction company in Ethiopia with a strategy of Timeously executing high-end complex projects, by utilizing proactive management skills as a Design and Build Contractor in order to achieve an optimum return and aspiring to be a competitive and preferred choice that can replace the current dependence on international contractors and deliver excellence. EEIG Construction will uphold Courage, Integrity, Reliability, Value for its People and Innovation as its core values.

As its first project – EEIG is going to build a 30 Floors High rise Headquarter Building in the city center of Addis Ababa – that will be designed and built by its inhouse consultancy and construction business units.

Role holder will be providing end to end recruitment and resourcing solutions to the EEIG Construction. They will provide an ongoing support to HR and hiring managers, determining staff requirements and collaborating on resource management with different teams within the organization.

Role holder will be a key contact for both internal and external candidates and facilitate a seamless resourcing process keeping all participants up to date and informed. 

Role holder should work closely with hiring managers in delivering resourcing plans and staff allocation. They determine the organization's capacity to meet the staffing requirement, assign employees to projects, and hire new employees. Should be able to make sound recruitment decisions as well as demonstrate excellent communication, management, and problem-solving skills. Role holder will report directly to the HR Director. 

Top Role Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Build a resourcing plan in line with the business strategy and goals.
  • Build talent pipelines for current and future vacancies using different platforms including recruitment agencies, job sites, Universities & Colleges etc.
  • Build top class attraction strategies and selection processes of candidates including leading assessment centers, psychometric testing and more.
  • Hiring new staff in accordance with business needs and within budgets.
  • End to end resourcing administration (from offers and acceptance to managing the pre-employment checks and onboarding activities).
  • Assigning available staff to projects based on their skills and experience.
  • Collaborating and providing support to Hiring managers / department heads to anticipate and plan for future recruitment needs.
  • Work closely with the HR team and line managers in building succession plans.
  • Mitigating resource concerns by reallocating resources or assigning additional staff when deemed necessary.
  • Ensures an excellent and consistent experience for managers and candidates (internal and external) throughout the resourcing process.
  • Documenting processes, maintaining records and ensure compliance of resourcing activities in line with resourcing and / recruitment policies.
  • Regularly attending conferences, seminars, job/career fairs, and other industry events to network and develop long-lasting professional relationships.
  • Keeping informed on local labor laws and trends in resource management.
  • Assisting when deemed necessary with HR-processes, such as payroll administration, compensation and benefit plans, and capability building etc.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Business or related fields.
  • At least five years' experience in resource/recruitment management.

Experience and Skills required:

  • Sound knowledge of HR practices.
  • Experience in managing budgets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable local labor laws.

To ensure success, role holder should possess extensive knowledge of recruitment and resourcing and ideally have work experience in an international organization setting. Having experience in a similar industry is an added advantage as well.
