Principal duties and responsibility

• Preparation of questionnaire/checklist for consultation with selected Key Iinformants
• Identify industrial inputs used in the current agro-processing industries, collect data or demand and supply for the period 2003-2020.
• Primary and secondary data collection and compilation on the following
• Types, distribution and production potential of agro-processing industries (time series data from 2004/05 -2018/19)
• Updated data on crops and related products processed by industries in Ethiopia from 2004/05 -2018/19 (Wheat, Maize, Sorghum, Barely, Oilseeds, Vegetables and fruits, Cotton, Sugarcane etc)
• Updated data on livestock and other animal products processed in Ethiopia from 2004/05 -2018/19 (meat and meat products, milk and milk products, honey and wax, leather and hides)
• Agricultural products imported as raw materials (inputs) for industries, or agro-processing industries importing agricultural products)
• Processed agricultural products imported for consumption 2004/05 -2018/19
• The total marketable surplus crop and animal products in Ethiopia in 2004/05 -2018/19
• Production and productivity history within the newly established industrial agro processing parks.
• Data summary, synthesis report and observations
• Identify key performance indicators that representing agro-processing industries
• Summary on the current characteristics and future prospects of the agriculture- industry linkage in the country
• Identify existing policies, policy incentives and disincentives for agro-processing industries
• Collect, assist and communicate any related data and information required to sustainable industrial inputs supply from the agriculture sector.

Job Requirement

• PhD in Agricultural economics, or an MSc in Agro-Economics or Development Economics with at least six years of experience in relevant field;
• Minimum of five years’ experience in agriculture and industry linkage research
• Has established reputation on his/her previous engagement with national research institutes.
• English language proficiency and strong communication and writing skill;
• And excellent knowledge on data analysis highly required

Remuneration: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
