Job Overview

Responsible for source selection and procurement functions associated with the company’s needs for materials and services. These products and services are to be secured at cost, quality and delivery standards. The position is further responsible for the logistics of shipping finished product to distributors and customers.

Directorate :Procurement and Logistics

Report To : Managing Director

Specific responsibilities and duties

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans, budgets and progress reports as required.
  • Develop and implement Procurement strategies and Supplier partnerships. Establishes, promotes and maintains long term business relationships with suppliers whilst maintaining the highest degree of ethics and confidentiality.
  • Prepare and monitor Project procurement Plans
  • Prepares contracts for delegated suppliers. Executes contract approval process according to existing financial policy and Schedule.
  • Constantly looking for new sourcing opportunity – Develop supplier database & evaluate vendor on bi-annual basis
  • Establish and implement a monitoring system that ensures that the prices paid for the materials are in line with local market prices
  • Ensure Tendering Process and Documents Flow Process are being executed according to the purchasing policy
  • Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers, and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and timely delivery competitiveness.
  • Processing of relevant purchase orders. Makes improvements to the existing purchase order system and its communication to supplier.
  • Initiates purchase orders for all construction materials and other manufacturing supplies. Maintains close coordination with suppliers and production management to ensure materials arrive for timely.
  • Assures that product is shipped to end users in a timely and safe manner
  • Maintains supplier relationships, visiting suppliers’ facilities to qualify them as new sources and assists in the resolution of production, design, quality and/or delivery problems
  • Oversight of warehouse management
  • Places claims to suppliers regarding quality or quantity immediately after receiving claim report from stakeholders or warehouse supervisors and organizes claim settlement
  • Support in searching market price and trends, identifying suppliers, cost analysis and working with sales on forecasting and planning to build effective supply chain
  • Closely collaborate with Region part of procurement organization, support any process changes and procurement modest as Buy/Sell, forward buying, etc.
  • Participate at project meetings together with function-requestor
  • Build good team sprite and regularly follow up team performance appraisal
  • Perform any other related duties as instructed by managing director

Job Requirements

Job qualifications and Skills

  • MBA/BA degree in supply and logistics management, economics , management, business administration and related
  • 6/8 and above years of work experience
  • Working knowledge of supply chain, Materials Resource Planning systems and freight
  • Solid analytical skills and computer proficiency
  • Planning: ability to perform short and long-range planning
  • Professional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent program and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations
