Job Description

BACKGROUND 

GAIN was launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. GAIN is a global, Swiss-based foundation that mobilises public-private partnerships and provides financial and technical support to deliver nutritious foods to those people most at risk of malnutrition.

GAIN contributes to fighting malnutrition in Ethiopia through innovative and sustainable models that increase access to affordable nutritious foods among communities vulnerable to malnutrition and is currently implementing a Complimentary Feeding (CF) project. The project’s overall objective is to increase the quality of children’s diets by multiplying the number of nutritious and safe food options mothers have for their children. The project aims to increase demand for nutritious foods to be consumed by children 6-59 months, and improve market access to these nutritious CFs, such as increasing the number of market channels in creating a feasible distribution strategy. Specifically, for this task, the project aims to improve market access to Fortified Complementary Food with vitamins and minerals for children starting from 6-month-old. Hence, the design of promotional tools is expected to support in creating demand for this product to be desired by mothers to feeding their children as one of their nutritious food options. 

SCOPE OF WORK

The Creative Agency will be tasked with the implementation of the agreed promotional strategy based on the developed communication strategy by GAIN.

Accordingly, summary of key activities of the assignment addressed in this TOR are:

  1. To produce specific ATL radio advertisements in local languages of Amharic, Oromiffa and Tigrigna customized to each target area to provide awareness and sensitize the market. i.e.
  • Produce a 60 sec radio ad translated to additional two local languages according to the provided script from GAIN in Amharic
  • Consult and advise any necessary changes to be made based on your experience for effective message delivery including translation services
  • Provide the radio ads in final mp3 format ready for media placement.

Considering the above scope of work, below are the specific deliverables with key indicators the agency is expected to fulfil as part of the assignment.

Script Translation

Consult GAIN on developed Amharic script for effective message delivery under 60 seconds  - TBD

Translate the final script into Tigrigna and Oromia languages and provide translated scripts for review - TBD

Radio Production

Produce 60 sec radio advertisements in all three languages based on approved final script.-

Radio editing and delivery

Deliver all three edited radio advertisement in all languages in acceptable format for media release - TBD

N.B Agencies are expected to provide not more than 5 pages technical proposal, a detail work plan with associated costs within the budget and scope to the above listed deliverables 

GAIN will provide the necessary script for the activity. Agency is expected to work on the translation and production aspect only.

  • Each page of submitted documents should be stamped or signed by the applicant.
  • The financial proposal should include detail costs including unit cost, quantity and frequency for each detail activity
