Purpose of the position
The purpose of the Agriculture Recovery Project Coordinator position is to plan and implement the Agriculture recovery projects in accordance with World Vision Ethiopia Recovery and emergency response principles, approaches and procedures implemented. The position will provide overall planning and implementation of the emergency recovery projects as per their standards.
Major duties and Responsibilities
· Project planning and execution: closely works with TP head and Food Security Specialist plans, organizes, leads and controls project activities and budgets through working with sectoral officers. Participates in program, projects design, concept notes preparation and proposals development; oversees the accomplishments of sector analysis, studies, position papers, policy briefs and other communication materials and also supervises his/her subordinators.
· Monitoring and reporting: - undertakes all projects’ and programs’ monitoring and reporting including using set performance indicators; keeping donors informed on projects progress and react on time to information requests
· Programs and Projects Evaluation: - participates in project baseline and evaluation with WVE’s MEAL team as per organization’s guidelines within recovery and response operational areas and ensures proper coordination with respective stakeholders including the Federal, Regional, Zonal and woreda government offices and participation of targeted local communities as required
· Accountability: - With guidance from TP head and food security, facilitates rolling out social and project accountability frameworks and establishment of feedback mechanisms from targeted beneficiaries and also document learning and share best practices to the ILaNS and HEA team as well as across the organization.
· Surveys and assessments: - Participates on agricultural related survey and assessments with concerned units from NO, RO or CPO, and disseminates the findings to ILaNS and HEA teams as fast as possible
Job Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position.
Minimum Qualification required: Qualification required: BA/BSc Degree in Agriculture, Social sciences, Development Studies and related fields.
List additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.
· Good understanding of transformational development
· At least five years of work experience in NGO environment or development related field
· Understanding of World Vision’s development programs;
· Presentation, communication, networking and partnering skills;
· Ability to data collection and analysis using computer packages like Epi-info, SPSS, MS-Word, MS-Access, MS-Excel;
· Participatory Program and Project Designing, Monitoring and Evaluation Experience;
· A strong aptitude for organizational change, innovation, learning, team building
Working Environment:
ü Work environment: Based in Addis Ababa with frequent field level trip to operational Woredas
ü Travel: Frequent domestic travel within the program area
ü On call 20%
