ABOUT PLAN INTERNATIONAL

Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Youth Technical Lead for an anticipated USAID-funded Youth Community Development activity in Ethiopia. The successful candidate will based in Addis Ababa or in any Program Area Offices of Plan International Ethiopia. The position directly reports to the Deputy Chief of Party.
The Youth Technical Lead is responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the development and implementation of all activities related to the engagement and meaningful participation of youth. This position is contingent upon award of the project by the donor.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Design and implement gender inclusive youth-focused programming following the USAID Positive Youth Development methodology including participatory youth engagement, governance, economic empowerment and civic participation.
- Build and/or strengthen the enabling environment for youth through the engagement of families, community leaders, local government and Civil Society organizations
- Serve as technical lead on the development and delivery culturally relevant soft skills using a variety of mediums.
- Leverage existing programs and resources to provide youth with a full set of support services including sexual and reproductive health, violence prevention, education and workforce opportunities.
- Promote positive youth development and government responsiveness on issues most relevant to youth, such as addressing youth risks during migration.
Job Requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- At least five (5) years of experience in positive youth development and economic empowerment programming for youth and vulnerable populations.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Education, Psychology, Public Policy, or Social Work.
- Work experience in effective development and execution of youth-friendly trainings.
- Work experience on USAID projects is strongly preferred.
- Work experience in Ethiopia highly preferred.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills required
Desirable
- Previous INGO experience in a similar position
