Sahay Mobile Money is an electronic money transfer product that enables users to store value in their wallet and via USSD with SIM cards of their mobile phone and via their Sahay mobile app, in the form of electronic currency that can be used for multiple purposes including transfers to other users, payments for goods and services, and conversion to and from cash. Sahay Mobile Money has become a technological platform that has enabled financial transactions with ease and in real time efficiently. Other products have endogenously been developed and rolled out on this technological platform.

We are looking for an experienced Database Engineer to join our team! As a Database Engineer at our company, you will be responsible for Planning, designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting, implementing, protecting, operating, managing, performance, integrity and security, and maintaining our company's  databases.

We strongly believe in deliverability and skills than paper works, that is why we also   try our best to hire both self-thought and schooled  engineers.

 Database Engineer Roles &   Responsibilities

•  Provide guidance and support to Application   Developers
• Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
• Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations
• Write and deploy SQL patches
• Upgrade and improve application schema and data    upgrades
• Process work accurately and in a timely  manner
• Pay attention to detail at all  times
• Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system  improvements
• Collate, prepare and present statistical information for internal and external use
• Design new databases
• Monitor databases and programs
• Troubleshoot database code for potential problems that affect  database
• Look through coding language to debug existing database scripts and   programs
• Review daily, weekly, and monthly database reports, including user reports and systems information, to spot problems and ensure that all databases and support systems are working at peak levels.

Database Engineer Skills &   Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related information technology field is desirable
• Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience with programming languages such SQL coding
• Easily design and implement a business process into functional and efficient code
• Implement and manage company data management practices and   policies
• Minimum 1 - 2  years of experience in administering, managing and tuning   databases
• Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience with SQL Server or MySQL or other relational database
• Good understanding of data and schema standards and concepts
• Good understand database design, implementation, troubleshooting and   maintenance
• Expertise in SQL
