Position: Emergency Seed Coordinator (3)
Duty Station: Zequala, Abergelle & Sahila Woredas(Wag Himera Zone)
Duration of Contract: Fixed term contract (June to February 7, 2021) with possibility of extension contingent on funding availability

PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The job owner will work closely with Woreda Agriculture offices and FHE project offices. Their role will be facilitating seed provision to targeted beneficiaries, and monitoring the progress of emergency seed in each Woreda where they are assigned and report back to Agriculture and food security specialist and to the FHE project office project manager. They also coordinate and arrange field visit with focal person from respective Woreda Agriculture Office to evaluate the performance of the seed distributed and follow up the crop planted performance every time up to harvest in approved scheduled manner.
ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Result #1: Program Planning
1.1 The candidate is expected to provide technical as well as administrative support for the PESS.
1.2 He/she will serve as a focal of field facilitator of the project in the woreda by supervising, monitoring and recommendation at assigned woreda level seed distributors, working alongside with the DAs of woreda Agriculture office.
1.3 To provide technical support for woreda program clients together with the woreda Agriculture office focal person.
1.4 Conduct zone level joint monitoring and supervision visits and post distribution follow-ups.
Key Result # 2: Program Management
2.1 The candidates are expected to provide technical as well as administrative support for the seed program at project level.
2.2 Facilitate and support proper financial management and utilization of emergency seed program funds are properly and timely used and reported monthly basis in close cooperation of project finance officer.
2.3 Conduct supportive supervision and report implementation status of the project as required.
2.4 To work with woreda office of agriculture staff to provide technical support and monitor crop performance in the woreda assigned.
2.5 Reports immediately any fast onset hazard encountered in program implementation woreda in relation with crops planted or on the life /health issues of program clients.
2.6 Ensure or maintain sound relationship with Government Partner offices at all levels.
Key Result #3: Monitoring & Evaluation
3.1 Prepare monthly monitoring plan, progress report, statistics report
3.2 To monitor document processes, successes, challenges and lessons learnt in the implementation of the program in the woredas level.
3.3 Submit monthly, quarterly, and final report of the PESS.
3.4 Attend monthly, quarterly woredas level performance review meetings, and present the findings of the project.
3.5 Conduct supportive supervision and report implementation status of the project as required.
