Job Description

Our Company seeks to hire a competent installation manager to train Satellite Installers, plan remote installation processes, manage VNO procedures to supervise installations in remote locations, and manage installation projects. 

Job Requirements

Main duties and responsibilities

▪ Designing and conducting VSAT training for Installers/Trainers

▪ Designing and supervising trainer of trainers’ sessions

▪ Managing teams of installers who are responsible for installing major components at each site

▪ Managing installations at each site

▪ Monitoring installation issues

▪ Planning of installation projects

▪ Preparing regular project update report

▪ Reporting back on the process of site installations

▪ Scheduling and overseeing the installation of products

▪ Adhering to contract specifications and established policies and procedures

▪ Ensuring that project milestones are met and adhering to approved budgets

▪ Using the VNO system, managing site up-time across all installation sites

▪ Supervising recruitment process of new Yazmi installers 

▪ Advising clients in their recruitment process for VSAT installers

Qualifications

Education and Training 

▪ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in electronics/radio transmission

▪ Cisco CCNA or equivalent networking certification preferable

 Work Experience Requirement 

▪ 5 to 7 years of experience in telecom sector

▪ 2 to 3 years experience in the related field (VSAT)

▪ 3 to 4 years supervisory experience may be required

▪ Solving major technical issues, prevention and troubleshooting

▪ Installing and configuring VSAT satellite modems

▪ Fieldwork in rural Ethiopia (highly recommended)

Other Experience

▪ Planing installation projects and preparing regular reports on progress

▪ Conducting site surveys - determining the best positioning of VSAT Satellite antenna for strongest signal reception

▪ Equipment installation - placing mounts, satellite dishes and receivers ensuring satellite connectivity

▪ Installing, configuring, and maintaining IP & IT related products include switches, routers, and servers

▪ Satellite commissioning and site integration

▪ Performing monitoring and maintenance of Satellite and RF units

▪ Solving major technical issues and running diagnostics based on performance thresholds

▪ Management of Satellites including installation, pointing, commissioning, routing, and tracking systems

▪ Energy management - installation, maintenance, and supervision of solar energy systems (batteries, solar panels, inverters, roof mounting and, charge controllers)

▪ Execution of periodic maintenance on users' workstations (computers and tablets) and the server room

▪ LAN administration, including IT support for staff

▪ Configuration and administration of a WiFi network preferable

Skills and Competency 

▪ Fluent in BOTH English and Amharic

▪ Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Working Conditions

Willing to travel to remote locations and work hours set by the company.
